RE: Cricket Banter - rocksaviour - 20-02-2012 20:36 Hopefully he can/should get into our T20 side, maybe skipper it as well seeing as Broad is a little bit injury prone sadly. RE: Cricket Banter - Boomerangutangangbang - 20-02-2012 20:57 I believe that England are using Cook as ODI skipper as practice for the Test captaincy.Replacing Strauss,in a similar way to Clarke & Ponting. What this tells you is despite what they say Test criket is,rightly way more important than any other form.T20 isn't played enough so the captaincy is less important, but maybe the hardest form to skipper. RE: Cricket Banter - rocksaviour - 20-02-2012 21:01 Yeah Cook is being groomed for the Test role one day down the line, perhaps after the back-to-back Ashes series. For the T20s I think they play nearly the right amount, perhaps they should play 3 T20s and then 3ODIs like what New Zealand are playing with South Africa at the minute leading into a 3 match Test Series, which will be on paper more one sided than the limited over fixtures. We are playing three against Pakistan and then only two more (against SA) before the World T20 in Sri Lanka I think off the top of my head, I'm fairly sure we aren't playing against the Windies in any T20s early this Summer. RE: Cricket Banter - Suurbier - 21-02-2012 11:12 Day off today and looking forward to watching my first game of the series... home I'm not a Jonah! RE: Cricket Banter - Boomerangutangangbang - 28-02-2012 13:34 England have dropped Morgan from the Test squad for the Sri Lanka series.Patel comes in as a batting allrounder & one of for spinners including Tredwell.4 spin & 4 pace options is a better ballanced squad.England had far too many fast bowlers for the Pakistan series. RE: Cricket Banter - Charlemagne - 28-02-2012 22:53 Anyone else see India just knocking off the Sri Lanka total of 320 in just 35 over. They had to get them in 40 overs to qualify for the final against Australia Sri Lanka have now to beat Australia to qualify at India's expense . RE: Cricket Banter - Boomerangutangangbang - 28-02-2012 23:17 Malinga got battered-7.4 overs 96-1 an economy rate of 12.97 RE: Cricket Banter - William H Bonney - 02-03-2012 13:05 (28-02-2012 22:53 )Charlemagne Wrote: Sri Lanka have now to beat Australia to qualify at India's expense . Job done. Sri Lanka beat Australia by 9 runs. RE: Cricket Banter - Boomerangutangangbang - 02-03-2012 13:21 Australia need Clarke back,I'd put Sri Lanka as slight favourites with more batsmen in nick. RE: Cricket Banter - Charlemagne - 09-03-2012 08:46 Top Indian batesman Rahul Dravid has retired from all forms of cricket. |
