RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Snooks - 13-04-2025 00:10 Sad to see Joe Perry miss out but he will still play at The Crucible in the Seniors where he will stand a good chance. There may be quite a few sighs of relief from a lot of players knowing McGill hasn't qualified because he is dangerous at The Crucible. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Doddle - 13-04-2025 13:45 Whilst I'm sorry about Lisowski, it's hard not to blame him since he's clearly capable of so much better. Fair play to Surety. Dale does/did commentary (as does Perry, come to think), so will probably carry on with that. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Snooks - 13-04-2025 18:11 Yes Jack Lisowski is his own worst enemy a lot of the time. Makes too many inexplicable errors at key moments. A habit which clearly dies hard in his case. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Doddle - 13-04-2025 21:27 He might work on his facial expressions, so he looks less like an 18th century cad who's got designs on all the landowner's daughters, and more like a 21st century snooker champion. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Joannis - 13-04-2025 22:34 Zhao Xintong is through to Judgement Day after beating Lyu Haotian 10-4. He was 6-3 up from the morning session. In the evening session, from 7-4 up, he made a 137 break, and from 9-4, made a 116 to finish off the match. Dominic Dale was commentating for Discovery Plus, and he said all the top 16 would want to avoid him if he gets to the Crucible. Zhao's one of the favourites to lift the trophy despite not even qualifying yet. His opponent at Judgement Day will be Elliott Slessor, who beat Marco Fu 10-6. Jackson Page made his first ever 147 in a professional tournament in taking an 8-1 overnight lead against Allan Taylor. Chris Wakelin is through to Judgement Day after beating Xing Zihao 10-5. Tom Ford is in trouble, currently losing 8-5 to Ross Muir. Sunny Akani and Noppon Saengkham could go all the way, Sunny currently leading Noppon 8-7. Edit: Ross Muir beat Tom Ford 10-7. Sunny Akani beat Noppon 10-7. Ben Woollaston and Mark Davis went to a decider, and just before midnight, after a marathon 58 minute scrappy deciding frame, Ben Woollaston won on the final black. His missus Tatiana must have been happy and relieved about that. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Snooks - 14-04-2025 17:29 Jackson Page will be a ridiculously happy bunny this evening ![]() RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - lovebabes56 - 14-04-2025 19:00 I think it's a first for the tournament (in qualifying) as Jackson Page becomes the first player to make two maximums in the same match RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Doddle - 14-04-2025 21:08 All credit to him, and let's hope he manages to make it that final step to the Crucible. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Joannis - 14-04-2025 22:37 There was a £147,000 bonus for the first player to make two 147s in the tournament, and Jackson Page's got it! His opponent on Judgement Day is Leicester cueman Joe O'Connor, who beat Julian Boiko 10-4. I'd been rooting for Gao Yang to regain his professional status, and I'm glad he'll be back on the tour next season. I've got to be pleased that he beat Maguire 10-3. He plays Lei Peifan on Judgement Day. Sadly Craptain Carter beat Ian Burns 10-8. He plays the winner of the match between He Guoqiang and Scott Donaldson. Wang Yuchen beat Milkins, Bingham lost to Holt, and Thepchaiya lost to Matthew Stevens. Wins for Matthew Selt, Jamie Jones, Wu Yize and Hossain Vafaei. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Joannis - 15-04-2025 07:18 I'm away from home after lunch and unable to watch Judgement Day on Discovery Plus today ![]() I'll have to catch up when I get back home tomorrow. |
