Musk was using Google cloud servers to host some of twitters essential services. The next payment should have been paid to Google on June 30th, musk didn't pay it...

Seen a few explanations of the reasons this has happened and one I like (not sure it's true) is that some new code was introduced on Friday which resulted in every time a user scrolled and looked at tweets it sent 20x the calls to twitter servers. In other words they introduced code which had not been fully tested which effectively launched a DDOS attack on Twitter by its own users laugh

Was just about to post this myself about elon/twitter not paying Google. Would explain this suddenly happening without warning on 1st July. My twitter seems to be OK one moment & then can't see anything etc next time I'm on

Knew that explanation Elon gave was bs

Is it posts which appear when you load up. Or is it post which you click on.

It also says that you've exceeded your limits but then tells you to retry. And often on the retry is works OK. Huh

If it was posts you've actually clicked on then you'd need to physically click on 60 posts per hour for 10 hours. I don't doubt that some could achieve that but most people would lose the will to live long before hitting that limit.

Twitter had a disruption of service around lunch time today.

A hacking group called "Dark Storm" are saying that it was their action.

Problems with the site was first detected 55 minutes ago.
