Damn shame, I was hoping he would recover in time to carry on playing the part.

I have only ever seen Andy in Spartacus, and he was brilliant in it, he made Spartacus his own. So much so that it is so strange seeing someone else acting as Spartacus.
He had great potential in becoming a breakout action movie star, such a terrible shame he passed away.
At least his legacy will live on with that amazing 1st season of Spartacus

Which Spartacus series came 1st?
Was it 'Blood and Sand' with Andy or was 'Gods of the Arena'
Because there seems to be a continuity error..

blood and sand was made first and gods of the arena was made second, telling the back story of the house of battiatus.
