Another one sided match this time Judd Trump beating Barry Hawkins 6-1. Not much crowd value for money there.
Hopefully this evening will be more competitive as former champion Mark Allen faces Si Jiahui of China.

It would have been value for money for me. If I knew what the score was going to be, I'd have rushed to the Ally Pally to watch it. I'd pay good money to be in the arena when Judd stuffed Hawkins 6-1. (Edit) with Desislava Bozhilova as referee, she'd have been worth the money by herself.
That's Hawkins and Carter out. Now I just need Robertson to beat Tubbs on Thursday.

Ah well there is the advantage or disadvantage (whichever way you look at it) of fervently wanting one player to win over the other
. For paying punter neutrals they may want it to be close. I like both Trump and Hawkins so would have preferred a 6-5 classic but there you go

I'm with Joannis, obvs, glad that the Hawk has flown. Of course the corollary is that Tubs will probly make the final now to keep the universal disharmony in balance etc

Speaking of Mark Allen he brushed aside Si Jiahui tonight 6-2. In truth he was never really threatened.

Allen got the expected win, but Si did well to make the event really.

Kyren Wilson has today beaten Zhang Anda 6-4 in a compelling match at Alexandra Palace. For so much of the contest Zhang was ahead on virtually every stat except the one that mattered. The man from China missed guilt edged chances in frame 1 and 4 that proved costly in the end despite a magnificent 141 total clearance to level at 4-4.
The World Champion showed his mettle from that point on to close out a very entertaining match.
