RE: Dr Who - HannahsPet - 31-05-2025 22:39 Jesus and then someone reappears on BS haha RE: Dr Who - KerrAvon - 01-06-2025 10:05 The eagle eyed have spotted that the "Introducing..." didn't have "as the Doctor" this time. A feint perhaps. The finale was an utter mess as usual with Russell T Davies, no real idea how to resolve his big ideas. But I suspect he may have had a tiny excuse this time with late rewrites. He really needs to go though. It needs another reboot and fresh eyed showrunner but the ending points to otherwise. Gatwa, Gibson and now Sethu deserved a better go of it. RE: Dr Who - lovebabes56 - 01-06-2025 10:46 Would I be right in thinking Gatwa's tenure as the Doctor Is one of the shortest in the show's history? RE: Dr Who - KerrAvon - 01-06-2025 11:58 ^You could say so, although depends by what metric I guess. Colin Baker only had 2 full seasons too, although had his first story at end of Davison's last season. Paul McGann only had the one story/movie (untill a webisode years later). Was he essentially the Doctor until the reboot years laters? RE: Dr Who - Doddle - 02-06-2025 13:31 I heard Disney were at fault. He's likelier to be the next Matt Smith in Hollywood, he doesn't need this anymore. Nothing to do with what happened at Eurovision - or was that a side issue? RE: Dr Who - *Kal-El* - 02-06-2025 16:30 From what I heard it’s because his in demand and because of the uncertain future of the show were the reasons why he left but he enjoyed his time with the show but thought it was time to hand over to someone else of course am paraphrasing what he said. RE: Dr Who - *Kal-El* - 02-06-2025 16:36 His Statement: Ncuti said: "You know when you get cast, at some point you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it. "This journey has been one that I will never forget, and a role that will be part of me forever. "There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe. "I've loved every minute of it, but now is the time to hand over the keys to that beloved blue box and let someone else take control and enjoy it every bit as much as I have. |
