Think Murray made the right call, a doubles exit makes more sense, especially if he still hopes to do something at the Olympics.

Sonay Kartal with a world ranking of 298 has claimed a notable victory by beating Clara Burel ranked 45 in three sets. The Brit sealed a 6-3 5-7 6-3 win but must now face Coco Gauff in the third round.
Edit: Emma Raducanu breezed past Elise Mertens 6-1 6-2 but poor Dan Evans slumped to a straight sets defeat against Alejandro Tabilo.
Elsewhere Naomi Osaka is out after losing 6-4 6-1 to Emma Navarro but defending mens champion Carlos Alcaraz comfortably beat Aleksandar Vukic to reach round three.

Kartal has been heroic for saying she was a qualifier.
Pleased that Raducanu-mania is back on, though whether her Mixed Doubles with Andy Murray is an accident waiting to happen, remains to be seen.

How many Brits will be in action in week two?
I'm Pleased for Emma, she has had a lot of injuries/surgery and has missed a lot of tennis so let's hope now the worst is behind her.

Its interesting that she is doing the mixed doubles with Murray, i would of thought she would want to ease back in & pace herself after an injury but maybe her team think as she needs as many games as she can to get up to speed
Given that her next singles match is a tough draw against the ninth seed, then maybe doing the doubles as well is a good idea
