All credit to Zhao, he'll still have quite the experience, whoever his opponent is. Some of Ronnie's shots were shocking tonight... He just didn't turn up tonight RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Snooks - 02-05-2025 22:27 In truth Ronnie's game hasn't really been consistently on point at any stage in this event. He has pretty much admitted that he has won matches because the opposition have so often gifted him chances that they passed up themselves. Flashes of genius but that's all. The moment he came up against a player in form and in ruthless mood Ronnie came up short. A long way short in fact. I would not read too much into the defeat in terms of longer term prospects other than to say that nothing stays the same forever. The class of 92 will depart the scene at some point with the same degree of inevitability that the World Championship departs the Crucible. For now we should merely be grateful the class of 92 are still around. Mark Williams will give his all tomorrow I'm sure but whatever happens he has done himself proud. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Joannis - 02-05-2025 22:29 Love Seema Jaswal ![]() Zhao downgraded back to a cyclone, but still enough to finish off Ronnie. Zhao becomes the first Chinese player since Ding Junhui in 2016 to reach the World Championship final, he also becomes the first amateur to reach the final. Can he become the first amateur, and Chinese player, to lift the trophy? Ronnie will be a quinquagenarian by the time the next World Championship comes around. Does he still have enough left to win a record breaking 8th title? He may never get this close again. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - HannahsPet - 03-05-2025 10:42 i think ronnie will be back think to get the 8th world title the break seemed to have been good would he have been better if he had one cue instead of two he has been making changes to the two he has been using after the one he broke when he had his break would be good to have a chinese winner although hearn might see it as a way to move the worlds abroad RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Doddle - 03-05-2025 14:30 I could have seen Ronnie announcing his retirement after that loss, but if he does still want to continue then I think he's still got plenty to offer. None of that "class of '92" seem to have the Hendry habit to go "sod this, I'm off". RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - HannahsPet - 03-05-2025 16:00 Or maybe he is retiring to Dubai or saudi ![]() ![]() https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/articles/cm253j3jyl3o RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Doddle - 03-05-2025 21:14 It's Mark Williams into the final 17-14. Resilience etc... well done. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Snooks - 03-05-2025 21:27 An utterly superhuman effort from the amazing Mark Williams. I feel incredibly proud of him actually. To outplay the form player of the championship over that distance is remarkable. His long potting, safety and consistency throughout was absolutely immense. I'll be honest, I didn't give him much of a chance before the match started but he produced a performance for the ages. A truly fascinating final now awaits. Master v Apprentice. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Snooks - 03-05-2025 21:51 World Championship Final: (Best of 35 Frames) Mark Williams (6) v Zhou Xintong Session One - Sunday 1pm. RE: World Snooker Championship 2025 - Doddle - 04-05-2025 13:42 One thing, I can't see it being a late night finish ![]() |
