That's great! And great news for Judd, he has been granted Hong Kong residency to be with his girlfriend; Hong Kong figure skating star Maisy Ma.

The Macao Masters 2024 version was not a tournament as such, but a series of 7 exhibition matches held from 25-28 December. With Macao being a short ferry ride away from Hong Kong, Hong Kong residents Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump and Marco Fu were invited, as well as Ding Junhui and Si Jiahui from mainland China, World Champion Kyren Wilson and others. To maximise attendance at the exhibition matches, the organisers put Ronnie in 5 of the 7 matches. Ronnie was in dominant form, pleasing the audience by winning all 5 of his matches.

Day 1
Ding Junhui 1-5 Judd Trump
Ronnie O’Sullivan 5-4 Jack Lisowski

Day 2
Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-3 Marco Fu

Day 3
Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-2 Si Jiahui
Marco Fu 5-4 Kyren Wilson
Marco Fu made a 147 break in his victory over Kyren

Day 4
Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-2 Kyren Wilson
From 2-2, Ronnie made consecutive centuries of 135 and 112 to go 4-2 up.
Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-1 Stuart Bingham
From 1-1 Ronnie made consecutive centuries of 134 and 116 to go 3-1 up. In frame 5 Ronnie was on for a 147 but broke down on 80. He made another 116 break in frame 6.

That Snooker 900 thing was on channel 5 yesterday again. That it's taken me to now to mention it tells you all you need to know.

The trick shot is great I wish Judd and his lady all the very best Would Judd still be a British player, or would he be more likely to represent Hong Kong in future?

RE: Snooker - Joannis - 31-12-2024 08:25

I would've thought the whole point of it was that Judd would now be considered a Hong Kong national so he could prevent Rachel Reeves from getting her hands on his earnings.

RE: Snooker - Doddle - 31-12-2024 15:04

Also, nobody has represented Hong Kong since it returned to China in 1997.

Minor news with Mark Williams needing an oxygen mask at some high-altitude event. Rock n Roll, eh?

Jak Jones made his first ever tournament play maximum break today in a Championship League win over Chris Wakelin.
Congratulations to him Smile.

RE: Snooker - Joannis - 08-01-2025 08:21

Well done to Jak Jones for that, but he blew a 2-0 lead to lose the playoff final 3-2 to Sia Jiahui in Group 2 of the Championship League.

Jak Jones was also the runner up in Group 1, going down 3-1 to Hossein Vafaei. Vafaei and Si Jiahui are the first 2 players to go through to the final group of 7.
