RE: USPGA - Doddle - 17-05-2025 13:41 Silly headlines about McIlroy making a big comeback - wow, 5 shots better than himself, only 1 better than the overnight leader. RE: USPGA - Snooks - 18-05-2025 00:02 Things have taken a depressingly predictable turn as Scheffler has taken the outright lead and seems pretty much unstoppable. Should be all over now. Oh well ![]() RE: USPGA - Boomerangutangangbang - 18-05-2025 10:54 Scheffler made a big statement in round 3, by taking a stranglehold on this tournament, & in turn bolstered his position as World Number One. He had a right to real slightly insulted by some in the media calling Rory the true No.1. Scottie is the best player in the world by right & what sets him apart from all others, including Rory, is his consistency. McIlroy has more bad shots, holes & rounds that Scottie who makes less mistakes. Looking forward to the final round & Snooks is right, a Scheffler win looks inevitable. Noren the closest at 3 back is untested at this level with his best finish at a Major coming in The Open in 2017 when he tied for 6th. An outside chance would be Rahm who is the one player among the leaders who is capable of going low & he'll need it starting 5 shots adrift. An off day for Scheffler would constitute 2 or 3 under, so work to do for the chasing pack. Most likely is that we get a Scheffler Masterclass. RE: USPGA - lovebabes56 - 18-05-2025 11:05 I Would agree, Scheffler's only real battle is with himself, and how confident he will be for the final round. Best finish for European Gold? and best finish scenario for Rory? There have been multiple first-time Major winners who've never come close at all before they hit the big one (and often disappear again soon after). There's hope for us all ![]() RE: USPGA - Boomerangutangangbang - 18-05-2025 22:00 Scheffler faltering, & after a slow start Rahm makes his move, but has to keep his foot on the gas. ![]() RE: USPGA - Boomerangutangangbang - 19-05-2025 05:50 A brave fight from Rahm but the course bit back, 5 shots dropped on the final 3 holes, brutal. Scheffler steadied the ship & romped to a comfortable win 5 shot victory with just a par round. RE: USPGA - lovebabes56 - 19-05-2025 10:17 It's nice to see Rahm back challenging I think he was a little unlucky RE: USPGA - Doddle - 19-05-2025 13:59 Well done Scheffler, truly the Jordan Spieth of our times. RE: USPGA - lovebabes56 - 19-05-2025 14:05 It will be interesting to see how Schaeffler copes with Portrush in July |
