Scottie would need to shoot over par today in order for others to catch him. I'm getting a little tired of US players winning our Open, a European winner or better still a British player.

A lot of low scoring today, but a heavily American leaderboard , as so often. I don't mind American winners if as with these latest 2, they're generally really good players. It's the ones who are largely unremarkable except magically pulling out that one good result (eg Calcavecchia, Leonard, Hamilton, etc, the others)

You've made a massive jump & assumption, why stop there why not flat out call me a racist. I'm a golf historian, the game of golf was born in these isles, links golf, our players play more on these types of courses, at least early in there careers, we have the most links courses & it requires a specific skill & therefore you would expect, or at least hope that British players would have some sort of an advantage. Naturally I would like to see a British player win, but in no way does that make me anti US.
The tournament is called The Open because it is just that, open to all who meet the qualification criteria, this year 27 different countries were represented, which is great. The Open is more open that the US Open by virtue of the qualification criteria.
I have no idea why you have gone off on a tangent with talk of banning foreign players from sporting events.
Post what you like fella, but in future don't link a reply to my posts with your ridiculous ideas & try to somehow make me look bad.
