Think MVG ptobably will have a big say in it, Even though he lost the World Final, I reckon even having a good World Championship run, will have given him some confidence for a real tilt at the PL title, and I think either Aspinall or Dobey probably will be the outside bets. I think a new name on it will be nice, but Littler will be sky high and I think if anyonw will stop him from winning, it may be MVG.

The reality with this is that it's all about money. Which players are perceived to put bums on seats and sustain the pantomime crowd atmosphere at primarily UK based crowds on the Premier League gravy train. Image over substance. Atmosphere over performance.

Aspinall did nothing in 2024, admittedly not through much fault of his as he was out for a lot of it. Price won precisely zilch all year.
Cross didn't win anything of any real significance and nor did Dobey but they both get in on the basis of deep runs in various events.

Meanwhile De Decker wins the World Grand Prix - gets nothing.
Edhouse wins the European Championship - gets nothing
Van den Bergh wins the UK Open - gets nothing
Heta has a very consistent season and is above Price, Aspinall and Dobey in the world rankings - gets nothing.

Faces deemed not to fit the profile of event the PDC want for their exclusive little club. Really pretty reprehensible to be honest.

Cross is automatically in because of being in the Top 4 so he doesn't count.

Stephen Bunting today won the Bahrain Masters with an 8-4 victory over Gerwyn Price. He had already beaten Chris Dobey in the last eight and Luke Humphries in the semi final before sealing glory in the title match.

Rob Cross has won The Dutch Masters by overcoming Stephen Bunting 8-5 in the final. Cross had previously beaten Jermaine Wattimena in the last eight and Gerwyn Price in the semi finals before winning the title match in Den Bosch.

The Winmau World Masters is underway in Milton Keynes. Already a shock as William O'Connor has beaten Rob Cross 3-1 in the opening round. He sealed the win with a superb 151 checkout.

Format is devilish.
Best of 3 leg sets Tongue.

Luke Humphries wins the World Masters for the first time defeating Jonny Clayton 6-5.

It's a welcome back to the commentary box for Wayne Mardle after a desperately sad time for him. Fitting that he did Comms on such a quality match on his return. A 6-5 classic Premier League between MVG and Luke Littler which the Dutchman ultimately won.

RE: Darts - lovebabes56 - 07-02-2025 00:01

I hear Luke Littler is being honooured on the opening night of the New Super League season by Warrington Wolves for one night only.

RE: Darts - Snooks - 07-02-2025 00:01

Luke Humphries wins night one of the Premier League in Belfast beating Chris Dobey 6-1 in the final.

He had previously beaten Nathan Aspinall 6-2 and MVG 6-5 in the quarter and semi finals respectively.
