That's been going on for years to some degree I suppose.
There's a fantastic documentary available about the Wrecking Crew that you might enjoy.
It's about the in-demand group of session musicians who played on tons of albums and singles from the 60s right through to the 80s, usually remaining anonymous while the bands they recorded for took credit.
You'll either enjoy it, or get outraged to boiling point

Cheers, thanks for the heads up! I am on blood pressure meds, I will have to strap myself to A BP cuff and monitor as I go!! ( I get the reason for session musicians (original player ill etc with time constraints) but no reason not to acknowledge them. I will wait to watch and judge then!

So I watched this Documentary, and it did - (not enrage to be fair) - solidify my unshakeable view that Pitch Correction (lesser Auto tune but ideally both) should have - if not banned - at least its use admitted, and clearly acknowledged on finished albums etc.

One additional thing to bring up here to end this thread (unless others have additional contributions) is that the guy 'Fil' from the 'wings of pegasus' youtube channel, who started this discussion on the back of people asking him to check performances, started a petition on change.org to try and bring change along the lines described above. He received correspondence from some in the industry - including Producers - who said/claimed that using pitch correction was no different to using other 'effects' such as delay, reverb etc. This is the bit that had me totally perplexed, as even I know the difference.

My final point then is, if Producers do not know the difference between applying the above 'effects' and pitch correction which changes the note sung entirely (the others do not) - or do not seem to care - why are they in the jobs they are in. End Of!!

Gutted that I have to post this! Faouzia has had her vocal on her new song 'Fur Elise' 'pitch corrected' FFS -seriously hacked off at that! Am I surprised though?? Sadly no!

Now D Henley miming to a backing track?? Given his age etc maybe not that much of a revelation, but the ticket prices would suggest the eagles are still among the elite, so maybe full disclosure?? They have now banned mobile phones (Henley doesn't like it aww - and no recording) any correlation??
