Made the best of a bad job; one of the more surprising Chancellors of the last 50 years.

Might well have been the last good chancellor we had, if he could have freed himself from Gordon Brown.

One that saved the economy when the shit hit the fan in 2008. remember a program on the crash CNBC did apprently the Yanks were looking to offload Lehman Brothers to a british bank with taxpayers help and Darling told them to Fuck off

god help us if had happened under this lot watch well we saw last year 30 billion lost and a huge spike in interest rates

One of the more modest MP's and def saved the economy in 2008. didn't know that the Americans tried to offload Lehmans and he told them to stick it.
Probably will never see his like in the house again.

it was barclays that was going to buy it but it would have meant taking on there toxic balance sheet and darling told them NO

as a barclays customer im glad they did
