RE: Slow boards help!!!... check here
I've had a good look at the site but not been able to find the cause of the slowness this evening. I'm starting to think some off-site factor is causing the problem. Anyway the webhost is currently looking into the matter and can hopefully diagnose what the cause of the problem is.

I think there's something bizzarre going on. Just now the forum seems so fast yet earlier on it was so slow. Very strange. It's a lot faster now than when I popped on earlier at 8:00, despite the number of users being a lot higher now. Earlier it was about the slowest I've ever known, yet just now it's noticeably quick. bladewave

I agree with Prince Henry - the forum seems to be back to normal speed now. It all seems very strange. This evenings events still should warrant investigation to prevent it happening again in the future.

RE: Slow Board & "MyBB SQL Errors"
i ran a tracrt last nigh and although it didnt time out. the ping was huge as soon as it made the jump across the water to america. ranging form 130 which is normal for the east coast to 300 which is way high...
so theres little admin can do about that im afraid.

for any 1 that wants to run there own.
open the cmd prompt and type at the >:

tracert http://www.babeshows.co.uk

you will then see the mops to your provider and after a few more the destination...
the first few will be 15-45 per hop
1s it moves to the u.s it will jump to 100-150
anything over 170 is what will be delaying the response from the forum....

Yes that all makes sense to me, I think you're right HEX!T. Plus I notice the forum is really speedy tonight compared to this time yesterday and the number of users is about the same, so I think that proves your point.

HEX!T is right, there was a network communications problem at the time. Last night during the forum's peak hours I did a tracert and it returned one figure of 197 and everything else was no higher than 140. As HEX!T rightly says a figure of 300 is way high, so if a tracert was returning a figure or figures of 300 at the time (Thursday night) this network slowness would inevitably have had a negative impact on the speed of the forum.

b4 you make a post saying you have a problem it may be worth while helping admin get a solution... giving the following info will help him help you.
if the board is slow then please do the following. im not asking for normal trace routs they will just hide genuine posts.

go to start/all programs/accessories
right click on CMD and run as administrator, if you have win7 or vista for xp just left click it to run.
the command prompt screen will open
type or copy and paste this at the prompt:>

tracert www.babeshows.co.uk

hit return/enter

you will then see something like the following.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

above is showing you how many connections its making to get to this site.
under your windows prompt please leave the date and time you ran the tracert.

right click on the cmd box and click select all.
when everything is highlighted, go to the top bar where it says command prompt and right click again, but this time select edit then select copy.

now paste your results under this post. please do not fill up the post with chat.
this is specifically for tracert data that shows a problem so admin can collect a decent specimen to pass on to his service provider.
please dont add any other comments just the absolute of the tracert data and the date and time of the test.

thank you.
