Slow boards help!!!... check here

Yep same here ...pretty damn slow for me to load anything within the forum domain for quite a while now.

Its been terribly slow in the last 2 hours. Seems a bit faster now.

I've been having a nightmare day so far, slow forum, failed recordings and my uploads are taking a fucking eternity

Been horribly slow for me all day and i don't know why - there isn't a huge amount of people online. It's taking me ages to browse and view threads.

In addition it takes me such a long time to make a post and reply to posts.

Worst thing is it takes a while to simply thank someone it's quite ridiculous

Its pretty slow at present.
I thought the site might have gone down just before 6pm. It was working for me, but there was a period of 13 minutes after I made a post at 5.57pm before another post was made by anybody at all. Quite unusual for such a long gap at this time.

The problem isn't one of bandwidth. We actually have bandwidth to spare at the moment. But it appears that we do need an upgrade of some kind and the options are being examined now, so hopefully before long the forum will be faster again. A couple of things have been tried which didn't make much difference, so other more far reaching options are being looked at in order that we can get the performance we want. Just for the record, the number of forum pages viewed in January jumped from 13.4 million in the month of December to 14.4 million, so with that kind of growth you can see why the forum has been challenged by the traffic load.

Every time I go onto the forum's main page, it is perpetually in a state of loading

Even when everything is there, and it is all fine, it is still going through the loading function. This seems to slow everything down for me

The board is so slow tonight (22:50 / 790 users) that it's almost impossible to use.

I know none of the members pay for this service, so I don't want to come down too heavy on the admin, but is anything being done to rectify the problem?

Yes something is being done, the forum is moving to a new home. Hopefully this will effect an improvement.

Thing is I think half the problem is that we have become so damn popular as of late.

In the 3 months I have been a member, the members have increased by 6000. That's 2000 new members a month, Can we cope with a growth rate of that size over a sustained period. And is this just the start, is it going to grow even faster?
