Question Do you suffer from F.O.M.O.?
I've seen this before elsewhere mostly with teenagers, this acronym F.O.M.O, Fear of Missing Out. This phenomena occurs when you switch your phone off(or computer) and then a few minutes later you switch it back on and check to see if you've missed anything. As I said this mostly affects teenagers who can't bear to be away from websites and social media for more than 2 mins.

My question to you is this, does this affect YOU or could you keep off this forum for longer than that without thinking I've might have missed something I need to see? The longest I've done it is 4 months but that was because I had an eye problem and other things in the real world going on and I didn't miss it at all(except my friends of course). Could you last 4 months or more? Can you see yourself leaving this place or do you think you will be here for a long time.? Smile

I'm here when I'm here, and when I'm not here, I'm not here. That's about it.

And I've never really understood this thing about 'leaving'. It's not like there's a waiting list and they need your place for a new member.

Used to maybe a little, but not anymore.

Think the key is to pay more attention to our other interests, spend more time with the important people in our lives and the channels and the forum will just fucking melt into the fucking background if you know what I fucking mean.

I can and will be leaving at 15,000 posts, which is a nice round number and the fact I am too old for this place now, let the younger ones have their fun instead. Smile

You starting that ‘I’m too old’ shite again?

Would you like me to escort you to the door in case you have an accident?

You’re as old as you feel, and take that from one of your elders...Tongue

No I don’t feel like I am ever missing out on anything. I’ll come in here when I’ve got something to post. If nothing comes to mind, I’ll pop in, have a scan of what other posters have had to say then get on with other things.

That’s it. Sorry G, but I’m not going to go all Grandad about it like you have. I’m older than you mate but I’m not going down that route. And I’ve been a member of this place for nearly 12 years! Each to their own and all that but Im bolloxed if I’m going by that example, if you start thinking of yourself in terms of ‘being too old’ pretty damn soon you’ll start looking and feeling that way, the human brain is a strange and still not completely understood thing.

What I’m saying is chill out, Relax and take each day as it comes...Plenty of time ahead for the pipe, slippers and pension book.

Nothing to do with age, I am going for personal reasons and I've lost interest in this place too many confrontational people and fanboys to piss me off. I will name names when I leave make no mistake about that.
