World Wide Web's 30th Birthday...
Hello as you may have seen in the news today it is the webs 30th birthday within the last 10 years for sure it has certainly come a long way in terms of 'Adult Content' quality.

What I am wondering and wanting to no from anyone on here that used the web in the 90s was their much if any at all adult pornography online was it just pictures and what were the websites and women you first saw online?

RE: World Wide Web's 30th Birthday...
I went online first in 1999, I was late into this thing and on dial-up(even now that god-awful sound haunts me!) and the first thing I put into a search engine, which if I remember correctly was LYCOS(the one with the black dog logo), was page 3 girl Natalie Banus naked. I remember also doing a course in computing(this was to get off benefit for a while) and one of our teachers typed in the word 'porn' and lots of headings came up including child and animal - a lot of websites weren't free unless you bought special 'keys' which would allow you to access some sites. I didn't go out of my way to find porn, sometimes it just appeared(not child I must hasten to add) in adverts. I was actually quite lucky as I found a lot of page 3 stuff of the past had been posted AND one website I contacted for possible pictures I later would end up co-running with the owner as we became friends. There were also Yahoo groups set up for models and if you knew where to look a load of porn star groups. Newsgroups were around as well which you could access via your browser and download stuff via torrent groups as well. Compared to what you have now, there wasn't a lot of porn around as most of it was hidden or pay for sites.

That's interest thanks for sharing your story I didn't get the internet until 2004 so I was quite late and even though it was some years after you the quality was so poor and short unless you paid so I just watched the adult channels I couldn't be bothered with terrible quality now it has gone the other way Babestation has gone to shit and HD porn and 30+ minute full videos are everywhere free lol

Ah the good old days (or not) of AOL, CompuServe etc. Then along came the likes of Freeserve without a monthly charge allowing you to hog the phone line for a little bit longer Big Laugh

Cam sites were only just kicking off in the late 90's and the likes of Camsathome and the other sites run by the Dutch company Interclimax were making serious money. I stumbled across it almost by accident and quickly became friends with a couple of Czech models, one of whom I still speak to every day.

God damn these Electric Sex Pants!

We had Freeserve but I kept a countdown timer next to me because it was expensive at 1.5p per minute weekdays but you could stay for longer at weekends for 1p a minute. I can remember desperately trying to get online via dial up and one night it took me more than 15 attempts-you would literally sit there and cross your fingers it would go through finally only to have your hopes dashed several times. I took my frustration out on a cardboard box with my gran's old stick but one day missed the box and hit the wall putting a few dents in it(my only wall in my attic room) Drove me mad coupled with that screech it made.

There ws plenty, been on since the mid 90's mainly photos as broadband/dialup speeds couldn't handle videos. It was mad expensive to get it at home so work surfing was the norm. I remember a site called linkorama which gave daily lists of mainly sample pics. Did the job.

Long live slips!

Oh wow haha the painfully slow speeds is something I do not miss.

But what I do sometimes miss is it's hard explain the novelty of you'd see something or place has a website and you'd go and check it out and be like oooo they've got a website and also looking across so many forums that are inactive these days.

Forums were fantastic back before facebook the reason why is because you'd have forums dedicated to certain things and if you weren't into bodybuilding or watches or tropical fish whatever the forum was you didn't get trolls and shit signing up to it. now you go on a facebook group or page and every idiot has there opinion on a picture posted or question, back then pages felt like communitys with discussions.

Thats intresting about the cam sites I remember Chatroullete and omegle they were funny seeing random people around the world and chatting

My first dealings with the internet was in 1994, and mainly consisted of downloading maps for my studies. It would literally take 20 minutes, one screen line at a time, to get one picture, so it was always a good idea to take a newspaper or book along for the wait. I also remember playing 'choose your own adventure' type text games and lists of pages beginning with "alt." No porn though, it was all carefully filtered.

Anyone remember internet kiosks ?
They looked like regular phone boxes, but had a small screen for browsing the web. I think 50p gave you about 10 minutes, sadly porn was blocked though.
