Incredible wrestler. Pretty shitty human being, by most accounts. But was dealt a very bad hand for the second half of his life.

Sad to hear as a big wwf fan in the '80's but I agree from what I have read he wasn't a good person to be around and seemed very bitter in later life. By all accounts though an amazing athlete. Both bulldogs now dead, hard to believe when they looked so fresh faced and innocent on tv back in the day.

Although wrestling is pretty crap these days it does annoy me when people say its fixed and they're just acting, so many of them die young having gotten addicted to various drugs and painkillers, yes the winner is predetermined but it still fkn hurts.

Long live slips!

He was an innovator no doubt but he basically spent his life alienating himself from his peers and the people who cared about him.At least he's at peace now.

RE: RIP Tommy "Dynamite Kid" Billington
He was definitely an innovator during the golden age of WWF and an integral member of the early roster, forming one half of the tag team champions, The British Bulldogs. A large part of his wrestling techniques incorporated styles from Britain, Mexico, Canada and Japan. Because of his large array of technical manouvres, a lot of his early matches against the likes of Tiger Mask and Brutus Beefcake are still used as educational training videos for people who want to get in to professional wrestling as a career.

In later life unfortunately a lot of things conspired to transform him in to a very isolated and somewhat bitter individual. There's no doubt of his turbulent private life which included violent altercations and rumours of cruel bullying against fellow wrestlers back stage but I can't help feeling some sadness as following retirement he developed severe illness and paralysis, both of which must have left him in severe depression during his twilight years.

Nevertheless, RIP Dynamite. Sad
