Jimmy McIlroy - RIP

Saddened to hear of the death of Burnley's best ever player at the age of 86

He made 497 appearances for the club, scoring 131 goals, helping win the First Division Championship in 1960. He also helped Northern Ireland reach the quarter finals in the 1958 World Cup.

Great player and a man of principles, beside being a manager he also worked as assistant manager to Nat Lofthouse and had a spell as manager when Nat resigned, he in turn resigned when the board told him to sell player.
