Documentary on Viper BBC1 Monday 11th June

Just been announced there is going to be a 30min documentary called Fight Like A Girl on BBC1 on Monday 11th June which is about the top Uk female wrestler Kimberly Benson, who wrestles under the name Viper (or Piper Niven in WWE)

I strongly recommend you watch as Kimberly is a ridiculously talented wrestler who is also an incredibly lovely person. I know as I’m a massive fan of hers & finally saw her wrestle just over 2 weeks ago

The contrast is not lost on her and in Fight Like A Girl, the first in a new run of BBC One's Our Lives strand, Kimberly explains what it’s like to lead her double life. She reveals everything from how she copes with her rigorous training regime, to how she deals with homesickness, as the sport she loves takes her all over the world.

Wrestling promoter Mark Dallas reckons she has it all. He says: “She’s relatable, she’s likeable, she’s a positive role model. She’s got that It-Factor that you can’t teach.”

A schedule of up to four fights per week all over the UK can take its toll on Kimberly, who comes from Ayrshire, Scotland. She feels the strain even more when she sets off for Japan to take part in a coveted double world title bout.

“Being in the spotlight is the loneliest place in the world,” she says. “It’s hard to build relationships with people when you don’t know which side of the world you’ll be on. You belong to everybody and nobody when you do this.” But she also loves what she does. "Travelling the world and living your dream - you can't beat that."

Having attracted a massive social media following, Kimberly is mobbed by fans of the cult sport when she’s out and about in Tokyo. But the glamorous side of being at the top of her game couldn't be further from her mind when nerves set in as she prepares to battle it out for the double-title belt.

I didn't know this would be 7.30pm, BBC1, tomorrow (well, in this region anyway).

Must admit I thought initially this was just on BBC1 Scotland, but no it’s bbc1 NATIONWIDE AT 7:30pm!!

Watch if you can or record it as it’s a must watch documentary about the top female wrestler from the Uk blazing a trail worldwide

Fight Like A Girl is a fantastic documentary, if you didn’t watch it, do so when it’s on bbc iplayer

Do you need all those people to protect your telly?

I thought it was a solid enough programme, half an hour was probably all it needed.

should see my whole living room as ive said I thought it was fantastic and for me should have been at least an hour. Kimberly/Viper/Piper Niven more than deserves this documentary about her and deserves all the success she's getting.

viper isn't done yet with tv this summer. next is world of sport on ITV
