Well done. The same thing happened to me nearly 10 years ago...I did manage to stop phoning, but the whole episode proved costly in more ways than one.

It may be you will always feel tempted to call up "just once" but if you do, the ball will start rolling downhill again and things will get out of hand before you know where you're at.

Stay strong...you can do it...take each day as it comes.

5 Weeks Sober

It has not been easy, I'll admit. However, I got my Direct Debit date altered from the 17th to the 3rd, so that it's just after pay day, and got a notification, last night, that this month's bill will only be a mere £13.
A small fraction of the £225 bill that crippled my finances and ruined Christmas

Good luck to any and all who are struggling with addiction.
If I can do it then you've all got a shot, too.

Good man. How about something like this as an idea of a deterrent to your falling off the wagon as it were. Put the £225 bill up somewhere and put a notice above it reading "this is the price of succumbing to temptation"

That's a top idea, dude, but I keep such things a secret from my housemate.
It's all very embarrassing.
However, I wrote upon the whiteboard in my gaming room, a list of things I could have treated myself to last year & concentrating on crossing them off my list each month with the savings from future phone bills.

I congratulate you with the progress you have made with your addiction. Mine is (in my doctor's pretty blunt and realistic terms) pretty much something I will have (and will continue to act out on) for the rest of my life with my chances of breaking out of it "almost not worthy of discussion" because of the fact that the compulsion - (impulse control disorder) along with my Aspergers making me inclined to having total fixations in my life because of the way my leaking sponge bag of a brain is wired - is an at times frighteningly intense nightly experience over the same babe which just reinforces the already locked in addiction

This is I believe why I get sudden bouts of depression...it's a definite issue to get to grips with when you're at the mercy of such a fixation. Trying to ignore it is akin to trying to stop a sneeze...completely. The pressure or tension builds and builds until it can't be ignored anymore...and this is every single night. A complete and utter double edged sword situation.

Wow. Proper thread. I remember making a call for the first time and 20 quid just went in matter of minutes. But needed to ring more. Some babes were clever by not doing what was requested and would delay and next thing you know you spent so much. The more you watched the babes the more you wanted to ring. It took few years to stop ringing the babes. It was proving costly for a working class person and was putting m through financial strains. But then you have temptations to make the call when of your fav babe like Sophia lares is on is bored and is free to ring. you think quick two min which lasts for 10 min but you end spending like 20 quid. Never again.
