I don't wish to clutter the XP thread further with my continued, mostly off topic there, objections to the current OF culture amongst babes, so I thought I'd bring the discussion to its natural home with a quick summary of what I'm saying and a reply to HP specifically...

Use of OF can have distinct implications for a babe's commitment to the shows in my eyes; to the point where, I don't think its hyperbole to say, if unchecked, these alternate career paths might ultimately threaten the channels' survival. That's the dilemma OF presents: It's a boon for each individual babe and fans of same but if enough babes can work their OF site to it's ultimate potential ... how many does it take before there will no longer be any need for the shows? (We have already seen this process play out with several big name babeshow babes of the past.) That has to be of deep concern to the shows and fans of the concept. 

OF offers babes a direct shortcut to their punter, one that eventually can provide an end run around the operators - presidence proved over the work that brought us all here in the first place. The question for the punter is what do we hold most dear?

I acknowledge and continue to acknowledge the nuance of the current situation. It was you who tried to draw it as an entirely black and white one (by suggesting the channels contributed "fuck all" to any of their babe's successes on OF). 

And, as Kerr said in answer to you on the other thread, just because cam girls can make it without being on the channels doesn't mean that babes that are/were on the channels aren't helped in their OF standing by being on them. Your conclusion is classic false equivalence at work I'm afraid.

No one is denying the cross fertalization of babes that goes on between the internet only cam sites, OF and the babeshows these days. But would these new generation babes come to the babeshows if they thought doing so would be of no help to them in their existing ventures online? They surely see it working on the channels as a win-win. My point is they are only looking at it as a relatively short-term thing and quite naturally from an individual bias. I believe there's a bigger picture that's hardly as rosy for the fan of the shows themselves.

She might be the exception rather than the rule but, if anyone didn't need the channels, you'd think it was Jess West.

She owns at least 2 specialist websites, is still actively doing porn, and I imagine her OF is very popular, if only because of her work ethic and the level she works to.
She must work like a demon to provide content for all that and yet still rocks up at Bs about 3 nights a week. So she must still see a benefit from being on the channels.

I think to an extent OF is likely to end up as being the golden egg that will eventually kill off the shows, individual websites and cam sites, it will get to the point (or are we already there?) where the babes will eventually see OF as their sole wage packet and will disappear from cam and the channels and shut down websites, but at the same time the channels themselves eventually will buy into the OF phenom as BS have done with BS Fans, and will probably start demanding a slice of the babes' own OF takings once more. OF is at best of times social media content all rolled into one neat package but comes at a hefty price to those signing up.

I’m just wondering if there’s many babes who DON’T exclusively operate on the DM pay per view mantra? I have no issue with it but some I’ve followed it’s nearly exclusively, main page is either just soft core/topless with short 5 second or less vids.
