^ This is all you need to know about the Republican party atm. They despise what Trump did but can not bring themselves the throw his base under the bus with him. They think they'll need them onside to get elected next time - whoever it is that runs at the figurehead.

Like we've seen constantly from Boris during the pandemic decisions are made not based on what should happen but what the decision makers think their public will wear. Career politics at its finest.

Just a heads up to say that part 2 of 'Trump Takes on the World' starts at 9pm (BBC2).
I saw part 1 last week and couldn't believe this guy was just so unstable and such a narcissist.

It's a jaw dropping programme.

He hasn't changed since he left office. His attack yesterday on Mitch McConnell was classic Trump with name calling, claims that only Trump saved Senators seats, attacks on McConnell's China business interests (that will be his wife Elaine Chao who Trump appointed as Transport Secretary and who owns a big cargo carrier) plus a claim that the Republican Party needs to dump McConnell.
