It should have happened a long time ago, but at the same time, if he had been sectioned I wonder how much better the US would have been being run by the Vice President. Doubt there would have been that much difference

Yesterday in public he said that China should investigate the Biden's and it was also revealed that he had asked President Xi to do so earlier this year. His comments yesterday were within a few seconds of him saying about the trade war with China

"I have a lot of options on China. But if they don't do what we want, we have tremendous power."

It really does seem that world leaders are being told they must investigate his political opponents or they won't get trade deals, visits to the White House, financial aid etc.

Two Questions :-
1) I assume there is nothing in the UN convention that stops China complaining to the UN over the USA (Since both are permanent Security Council members)?

2) Has a permanent Security council member ever lost it seat?

China holds a lot of US debt. They have much better options than moaning to the UN if they want to cause Trump real problems.

As for the security council, the 5 WW2 Allied Powers/Original Nuclear States are granted permanent status by the UN Charter and removal would require an amendment. In practice this would never happen as they all hold a veto.

But it seems like this is as far as Ukraine is willing to go with their demand: 'We'll look at all these cases, not at Burisma or Biden specifically, but at Zlochevsky and other businessmen who are linked to them.' "

Though as stated this is not the exactly what the Trump Admin are looking for, imagine if it led to something and Ukraine gave into Trump's demands in the middle of the impeachment enquiry. It wouldn't affect the outcome as far as proceedings in The House would go but as I said in a previous post it's going to fail in Congress anyway it will be won or lost in the court of public opinion & if Trump was vindicated at any level then, particularly in this extremely bipolar political atmosphere, I think that would be a devastating blow for The Dems on selling it to the general public

I have a feeling whatever links Trump to Ukraine will eventually lead right back to Putin.
