I didn't see it.
The urge to leap from first story windows onto broken glass was overwhelming.

Quite right. Eurovision has been around longer than the EU anyway.

This year 24 of the 42 countries in the contest were members of the EU.

But the UK public thought the same didn't they? The fact that our entry hasn't made the UK singles chart says it all really.

RE: Eurovision 2016
Seems to be an annual sport now, people griping about ' nobody likes the UK' etc, but the fact is our song didn't get many votes because it was complete rubbish, just like they have been for years now. I wouldn't have voted for it even if I was able to and third from bottom was probably about right.
Encouraging to see Georgia rock song getting most of the UK's public vote, perhaps all hope is not lost for our music heritage after all.
The Ukraine entry was nowhere near the best song but its political overtones, although nominally historical, gave the opportunity to all the former soviet controlled states to deliver a slap in the face to Russia about what it is doing in Ukraine today.

Whether they should be in Eurovision or not is another debate , but feel sorry for Australia, their song and performance were clearly he best - by a mile - but ended up being robbed by a weird voting system.

There's been plenty worse than UK entries that have faired much better; it's comon knwoledge and has been for years voting is politic as much as it is the quality of the song; Terry Wogan sent this up years ago.

Obviously not - loads of last night's participating countries are not members of the European Union.

And we were in Eurovision long before we joined The Common Market. The European Union has nothing to do with Eurovision

It hasn't made the charts because it hadn't been released until last friday (i think)
