IDS's attack on the rich is about as convincing as Bernard Matthews championing vegetarianism. IDS is just appealing to those racists who've spent the last 70 years expecting more trouble. If it's not the Germans they blame, it's the French.

So yesterday Boris said it was NATO & not the EU that maintained peace & that to argue that it was the EU risked undermining NATO.

18 months ago Boris published a biography of Churchill and in it he said " the European Community, now Union, has helped to deliver a period of peace for its people as long as any since the days of the Antonine emperors" He ignored a question about this from Robert Peston - I suppose it was a little inconvenient.

It seems that his ambition to use the European campaign to further his own political ambitions means he will even rubbish his own words.

Maybe the timing of IDS this morning was because of Gove dropping a big one about leaving the single market all together.

Oh well he said on the doorstep as he came out for leave. i wont be doing any campaigning or anything like that
