I wonder if the French election outcome might be a pointer as to how the German Election might pan out later this year

It's Macron v Le Pen for the next President of La France.

The price of the Euro has increased as the business sector is expecting a Macron win.

will that make the £ weaker in Europe if Macron does win?

Marie has vowed to abandon the euro, hold a referendum on withdrawing from the EU and adopt a French-first policy on jobs and housing.

So a Le Pen vote would effectively be the death of the euro in the EU.
It's not making the pound weaker but it's made the euro stronger against all the other currencies. (Glad I got my holiday euros last week)
