I just wanted to pick up on this.

I will assume the experts you are referring to are the leading economists (including the chief economist) for the Bank of England who predicted a recession following a possible vote to leave the European Union.

Now that we're over six months following the referendum result it is clear that was an incorrect prediction. Although the pound has dropped significantly in value, only to be told by prominent leave campaigners that the pound was overvalued anyway and that this was always likely to happen. (A fact that the same prominent leave campaigners neglected to mention BEFORE the referendum).

The point I wanted to clarify was, is it fair to deride people for considering the opinions of leading economists when making a decision in which the economy is a huge factor?

Of course not, and I have not done, the derision seems to be presevered for people who predict the the economy will not suffer as much as the more extreme remainers would have us believe.

Nobody can predict the future, even the experts opnions are informed guesses at best.

That's fair enough. I did interpret your line about 'these experts you buy into' as being fairly derisory down to it implying a bit of a 'Ha! You listened to experts!? What a tool! Bounce *gloating face* ' tone.

Especially as even the most rudimentary knowledge of economics would point out that one of the key ways to avoid a recession is for leading economists to admit they were 'wrong about an impending recession'.

But you're correct in asserting that the leave side does not have the monopoly on mockery of the opposing view. Although insisting that derision is preserved for leavers is at best, far fetched. I'll go ahead and play fence sitter on that point, as from where I've been stood neither side comes out smelling of roses.

No mate, I was having a naughty (and rather childish) dig at those who critize listening to experts with a positive viewpoint of Brexit, whilst baseing all their attacks on on Brexit on experts who have demonstratable been wrong - thus far. Wink Essentially I agree with you, there are two sides of the coin, something I have consistantly persisted with on this thread, it just looks like i'm pro Brexit with there being so many remainers on here.

As I've always maintained, you cannot predict the future, it could indeed be terrible, it could also be great. All that was known at the time, was some experts (probably most) were pretty much talking as if the sky was going to fall in, and scare mongering tactics still persist. Others (more in the minority) were pointing out it could very a very good thing for the UK, but it depended on certain factors, ie, the EU not 'punishing' the UK; and that's the great unknown.

Some EU people want to beat the UK with sticks (forgetting nearly half voted to stop in), others want to go easy (realising there is a lot of vital trade with their countries, as well and security etc).

Truth will out. All the black mails, threats and anger are about losing UK money rather than UK losing trade witht the EU.

They made it sound like they was doing us the favour.

So the government says it will protect EU citizan rights of those living in the UK AS LONG as UK citizens living in the EU have theirs protected.

The lords say neigh:

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/national/...li=BBoPWjQ

The EU members MUST be protected in the UK was diddle squat protection for UK citizens.

Congratulations Lords, you have stalled the inevitable and signed your own death warrant.

Do you need to calm down a little?

I don't know what you have been reading, but it is all over the press today how the Lords have defeated the government.

I'm well aware it will go back to the commons, I believe they call it ping pong.

The Lords stated that well over THREE MILLION peoples from the EU who live in tiny UK (mostly in sqwashed into England) HAVE to have their rights protected, wereas the government have said yes, as long as the mere 900,000 UK people throughout the vast land block of continental Europe also have theirs protected. This apparently is soooo wrong to the Lords. It is May that seems to be ignoring them and going on as usual.

First time I've heard anyhting ghood said about the unelected Lords.

I have no idea what PIP has to do with this, and I have no idea what the relationship with the lords is that you seem to be claiming; becasue the sick, disabled and dying are still being harrased out of their benefits, along with heavily pregnant women. As for me personally, it is no longer sufficient if I have crippling anxiety attacks/ panic attacks as long as I am able to read a time table I will be unable to claim the lower rate mobility which i was given indefinatly by 2 doctors and a lawyer at a tribunal only a couple of years ago; so I'm not entirely sure what I have to thank the Lords for at the moment.

I assume they need to get some money back for all those imigrants and indiginous unemployed with stupidly large families claiming benefits and those wanting cosmetic surgery on the NHS.

You know, the ones that can holiday all over the world if they want.

EDIT

Ps, what exactly are all these constitutional criseseses you say I claim?

I just dont see what the fucking the problem is put it in law that the EU citizens here now rights are protected. what happens if EU doesnt protect the UK citzens rights could be a good chance one of the 27 will vote against it anyway

Are we really going to Chuck out 3 million people if they dont reciprocate rights course not the eccomomy and the the NHS would collapse nhs already straining

more chance of someone screwing it up if its a we will do it if you do it approach
