Page 3 is no more in the Sun Newspaper

there are reports in the non tabloid newspapers (today) and was mentioned on sky news tonight that the sun has out of the blue decided to call time on page 3 after 44/45 years and will no longer have topless women on p3. Apparently the last sun page 3 girl in the sun newspaper was last Friday.

it isn't the end though of page 3 altogether as the sun will apparently now have page 3 online only

wonder if this will have an effect on the babeshows. for example will we see some of the existing p3 girls (sun, star & sport) join the babeshows ?

That's a shame, I was hoping that Traci, aged 23 from Essex, was going to share her advice on who I should vote for in the General Election, come the time - now I'll have to work it out for myself.

Lacey Banghard for Babestation, sounds good but I doubt that page 3 work made up that much of their incomes, that they would be forced onto the babeshows.

This also poses the problem of where page 4 is going to go now, for you can't have one without the other.

If their circulation falls and is found to be directly attributed to this decision ,expect it to be reversed .

I did think page 3 would finish this year after Rupert Murdoch (who created page 3) said himself it was old fashioned late last year and the sun around then started to reduce then number of days it would have a p3 girl in the paper and instead have celebrities

Agree cant see the existing p3 girls being forced onto the babeshows because as you say p3 doesn't make up much of their income these days, but it wouldn't surprise me if some p3 girls do come on to the babeshows, especially those that were just breaking into p3 and the glamour industry

mickster, that is apparently what will happen. The sun from now on will apparently not have p3 in the paper and p3just be online only. however if the sun sales figures drop enough then p3 will come back.

bet now the Daily Star and the Sport Newspapers get targeted now

Reports only say that the models in The Sun will no longer be TOPLESS. They aren't saying that pictures of models won't appear anymore, so you can still get advice on who to vote for, it just won't be topless advice.

No good to me. I base all my political views, social outlooks and indeed, what I eat that day upon a combination of the areola sizes, shapes and colours that appear on P3.

To be honest not really looked at sun page 3 for ages. Star page 3 was a lot better over the last few years with a few of the babeshow girls being on it such as Melissa Debling and Jodie gasson

What I couldn't believe was the number of people who were rejoicing on my local radio station this morning including many who were saying it was sexist etc and wanted it banned because they didn't like it, were the same people who a couple a weeks ago were after the attacks in France saying their should be freedom of the press and freedom of expression and they should be able to print what they want. They can't have it both ways, seems a bit hypocritical to me.

At least the lovely Lucy Collett is available online today.
