There's a Springsteen doc on BBC2 at 9, followed by someone's film based partly on the Boss' music.

SA have some proggy repeats with Yes in concert followed by Rick Wakeman's Six Wives of Henry VIII (possibly with narration from Brian Blessed if lucky).

BBC2 have some Piano Room Radio 2 type thing and then the Story of 1991, which I believe they didn't show on BBC4 when they should have done. REM at the BBC to follow and then When Nirvana Came to Britain, if you want to marvel at Krist Novoselic seemingly auditioning to play a hitman in a three-piece suit.

1991 was good stuff, then they did 1992 this Saturday, which also had its moments.

TP showed the Heritage Chart Show Sunday night fronted by Mike Read. Supposedly based on some website, and voted on by 80+ countries, it focussed on oldie acts, as typified by in-studio interviews with Limahl and Paul Young. Some of the top 30 rundown tracks were played (eg Eddy Grant, Tears For Fears, Tight Fit (!)) and most weren't. Apparently weekly from now on.

I'd been aware of that chart, before the tv series, which I did see on the tv's programme guide, before that edition, but that was the first I caught, albeit only a few minutes.
Here's the website: https://www.heritagechart.co.uk/

1993 tonight. The Friday night repeats are still around Oct 1992.

RE: Music On TV - Documentaries/Live Performances
When the TOTP story of 1991 wasn't on BBC Four, I'd presumed it was because the channel had been downgraded to an archive channel, meaning £€$ wouldn't be spent on that series anymore.
However, that the series is continuing to be made, and is being aired on BBC2, suggests that the TOTP re-runs might be among the most-watched programmes, on any BBC channel!?

I never doubted they would keep making those reviews, though I hope they don't plan to rush through all the remaining ones on Saturday nights.

I suspect the somewhat similar series on channel 5 might have prompted a re-think, because they clearly put a bit more effort into interviewing all and sundry.
