Celebrities who died in 2012
I couldn't help thinking that there seemed to be more celebrity deaths than normal last year, so I compiled a list of those we lost:

JANUARY 1: Footballer and manager GARY ABLETT, 46, died of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
JANUARY 3: Guitarist BOB WESTON, 64, briefly with Fleetwood Mac before going solo.
JANUARY 6: TV presenter BOB HOLNESS, 83, hugely popular host of kids’ quiz Blockbusters.
JANUARY 12: Writer REGINALD HILL, 75, author of the Dalziel And Pascoe crime series.
JANUARY 20: Jazz legend ETTA JAMES, 73, famous for hits At Last and Something’s Got A Hold On Me.
JANUARY 26: Actor COLIN TARRANT, 59, played Inspector Monroe in The Bill.
FEBRUARY 1: Boxing trainer ANGELO DUNDEE, 90, the man who guided Muhammad Ali’s career.
FEBRUARY 4: WRAF’s FLORENCE GREEN, 110, last surviving veteran of the First World War.
FEBRUARY 9: Racehorse Trainer and four-time National Hunt champion JOSH GIFFORD, 70,
FEBRUARY 11: Singer and actress WHITNEY HOUSTON, 48, sang smash hit I Will Always Love You and starred in The Bodyguard.
FEBRUARY 12: Actor DAVID KELLY, 82, played builder Mr O’Reilly in Fawlty Towers.
FEBRUARY 15: Fleet Street royal correspondent JAMES WHITAKER, 71.

APRIL 20: Deaf MP JACK ASHLEY, later Baron Ashley, 89, campaigned for the disabled.
APRIL 29: Poker player and author AMARILLO SLIM, 83, won the 1972 world poker title.
MAY 4: Rapper ADAM YAUCH, 47, founder member of the Beastie Boys.
MAY 9: Hairdresser VIDAL SASSOON, 84, created the wedge bob.

AUGUST 31: Entertainer MAX BYGRAVES, 89, singer and host of TV’s Family Fortunes.
SEPTEMBER 5: Jockey and horse racing commentator JOHN OAKSEY, 83, who became second Baron Oaksey.
