Well England got crushed. Credit where it's due, Pakistan were all over them from the get go, and England were lucky that they didn't lose by an innings!

A 10 wicket 3 day loss ! 2 extra days to put it right,expect England to bounce back.But it will he hard to even draw this 3 match series,let alone win it.

England plan to play they same 11 players that were so sucessful in the last match.

Good players don't become bad players overnight. Also, England don't do well in Asia and whoever they play it may not make much difference. Excluding matches in Bangladesh, England have won just 1 of their last 18 Tests in Asia.

The only change they were ever likely to make was to bring in Monty and I don't know enough about the pitch to say if that would be a good move.

Tremlett is a major doubt with a back & side injury,so there's hope.Looks like his injury plagued career continues.Finn is 10mph faster but maybe not effective on these pitches.Onion would bowl well as he attacks the stumps not in the original squad so don't think they play him.I'd like to see if Panesar has improved since he last played.

England need to get past their '2 spinner phobia' and quickly!

As I said earlier in the thread how England bat was always going to be key. Their shot selection in the first test was suspect given the conditions. Patience is important as is the ability to find gaps in the field for 1s and 2s. This being said getting 20 wickets won't be easy either on the 2nd test wicket by the sounds of it.

After winning the toss and batting Pakistan finished the first day on 256/7. It's a rarity that more than 90 overs are bowled in a day of test cricket, but by including Panesar in their side and fielding 2 spinners England got to bowl 94 overs in the day.
