Best ending to a game you have seen

Whats the best ending you have seen to a game ever?

You play through all the levels and get to the end and most of the time its just the credits and you think "I played this for that"

Not very satisfying.But once in a while you play a game and go WOW

This one is a bit old but at the time I thought it was great as it was only on the NES

i thought the whole story and the end of the first halo was very good.`the hug was a nice touch showing the aliens and humans being the same.

i loved how you started with the aliens as the baddies. then the flood then your good buddies the robot things turn bad. was cool how the different baddies were all unique and had different reasons for doing what they were doing and not just token villans.

I agre Firekind. Halo 1 is the best game I have ever played .Nothing has beaten it since altough Gears of War did come close. I have it downloaded on my 360. If only it had online multiplayer

MGS3, Kingdom Hearts and Lost Odyssey were the only games that touched me emotionally so I am willing to say them. The Halo 3 ending was pretty good too, if just for that fleeting second I thought that they had killed Master Chief. And if it can count, the ending to the first disc of FFVII was brilliant.

You're not wrong, mate! That was the first time I remember being genuinely shocked by a plot twist in a game. Classic.

I also think Portal deserves a mention. For the song GLaDOS sings, if nothing else... (This will mean nothing to you, if you haven't played the game. Losing the Weighted Companion Cube actually hurt.)

the ending to crimson butterfly on the ps2, where 1 of the sister murders the other, utterly shocking and disturbing, but is the best ending by far.

i used to love all the different character endings on street fighter2 on the super nes.

Dude you and Gears 2 really need to get a room, EVERY time a game is mentioned you mention Gears 2. It is not the best thing ever, it is a very good game but it isn't even as good as the original, and that bit at the end of Gears 2 was just trying to do the same thing as Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear Solid 2 and failing miserably. The phrase 'What have you done?' does not come anywhere close in terms of greatness when compared to the last bit of MGS with 'Mr President' or the MGS2 'They've been dead for over a hundred years' and neither of those games would be put anywhere near the best ending ever in games. Mate play more games and broaden your horizons a bit, the current gen is not where gaming started you know.
