Bree you have your head up your arse pal. It was great to see the improvement Hearts made in the season we came second but that was very quickly destroyed by that wanker Romanov. I am telling you right now, Celtic would struggle to sit mid table in the Premiership. The fact that you have just compared Celtic to Aston Villa after the season they've has so far is beyond belief!
Anyway back to the point. The SPL is a fucking disgrace of a league. Every club apart from Celtic and Rangers have terrible attendance records, terrible Champions League away records (no dig at Celtic intended lol!) and I doubt Rangers fans will ever be allowed in Manchester again. Will someone please back me up here and make this guy see sense? I mean can you really imagine the likes of Gary Caldwell and Steve McManus trying to deal with the likes of Tevez, Berbatov, Torres, Adebayor and Drogba every weekend? No chance in hell mate. As for actually WINNING the Premiership, you better go and see Jack for some magic beans! It's taken years and years for Aston Villa to be this close to breaking the deadlock of the 'top four' so for a team to just be able to storm to the top and win it within a few seasons is very very very unlikely if not impossible. You can argue all you want but I know for a fact as a non dillusional, impartial football fan that in this case I am definitely right.

its all about opinions jordo yes we could argue all night about the game and the state of Scottish football we might not have the best league in the world but it better than it was a few years a go i still do think that we could still win giving the money that you get in the Premiership and if we had the money we could buy better player that's why i said 2/5 years and Aston v did not have the money or the right manager be hide them if Aston v hang on to martin O'Neil you will see them stay up there over the years have you any idea how big Celtic is as a club and rangers there is a fan base all over the world if we where there with the money you get and the fans buying all the gear don't worry about it we will be up there if the rest of the if Scottish fans get out of the house and go support your time and get a better attendance records at your games.just don't like any one slagging of our game it might not be the best but we've got it lets make the best of it to much negativity in Scottish football and in Scottish people be positive

I really wanted to stay away from this one but here goes......!

The SPL is not a quality league. However whilst Rangers and Celtic are both good sides, I dont honestly think that either would be able to win the Premier league within 5 years of joining if it were to happen! As some of you have mentioned its taken Villa years to get anywhere near the top 4 clubs and i think that if Celtic or Rangers did come across the border it would take some getting used to a) not being the favourite week in ,week out and b) the pace of our game!
Just to give you an example of what im talking about, when Craig gordon joined Sunderland he was asked as a Goalkeeper how he was adjusting to the English game, The first thing he said was that "They kick the ball a lot harder" and "some of them are so fast you dont wanna come off your line for fear of giving away penalties" and after playing his debut said he was "absolutely knackered"!

I just think that the scottish league is not competitive enough for all bar 4 games a season when the old firm meet! This i think would ultimatley prove detrimental to Celtic and rangers if they were to join the premier League! Realisticly I would say that Rangers and Celtic would be mid-table at best maybe improving with time!

Well said astonv1. I think the majority of people think this way.

I would also like to add that I think it would be an absolute disgrace if Celtic and Rangers did move south. I'd see that as turning your back on your country.

aston how you doing it would take time for us to settle in to the Premiership but settle we would and do well in the league Craig Gordon is not goalkeeper in my opinion Allan mcgregor is a better keeper and a 9m price tag on him was outrageous the money going about the Premiership is a wast of money..anyway there is more chance of a Atlantic league and us to get in to that than the Premiership when we play any time from England we do well and don't look out of place so some money and better players we would do ok don't be scared aston lol

if we did go it would give other teams like hearts and Aberdeen Dundee utd a change to win the league and get in to the champions league don't go with the majority and it not turning your back on the country its enhancing its reputations

scottish football is shite, nobody except rangers or celtic will ever get anywhere in europe but.....

i went to menorca last year and there were a lot of spanish students on holiday there and we were talkin about british teams in europe and they were mostly barcelona fans and they all said how great they thought celtic was, even saying they only other team than barcelona that they would play for would be celtic because of their fans and history in europe... the odd couple said they would play for liverpool but im a chelsea fan so i ignored this.

celtic have got one of the best and loyal fans in the world and i rekon with a bit longer than 2-5 years they would be right up there with the big four because of the money, there is no doubting a club as big as celtic would attract the players and being in the premiership would give them the resources to buy these players. but i will stand by the fact that the spl is shite and gradually getting worse as the big two lose more money.
