Frankie is an unusual name for a dog. Was she named after anyone famous?

Actually Frankie was a he & no he wasn’t named after anyone famous. Frankie is the last name of his pedigree name. Not the first person thinking he’s a girl, especially once the girl band The Saturdays were around

The cricket World cup has finished, there's no motor sport, Wimbledon's over, England are on a day off in the Netball World Cup and the Open golf is yet to start. It's a rest day in La Tour, so there's no cycling.

What am I to do Rolleyes

And to make things worse I've just been given a trowel and a bucket Surprised

My thoughts exactly when I woke up this morning! So far I've been out for breakfast and a walk and now I'm catching up on a documentary about Charles I before doing some gardening. Less than 24 hours before Stage 11 of Le Tour starts.

There was a guy on BBC yesterday and I spent the first 30 seconds of his report thinking "weren't you on Sky last week?" I don't know what kinds of contracts these folks have, but they don't seem to have any difficulty moving hither & yon.
Faisal Islam has this week grown a beard and moved from Sky to BBC Surprised Well, he may have grown the beard last week, to be fair...

Laura Kuenssberg left the BBC to a special job at ITN but then a year or so later Robert Peston was snapped up and Laura came back to what she is good at. Several weather forecasters(Laura Tobin, Liam Dutton) have jumped ship too from the BBC to ITV and CH.5. What really annoys me is that most of the reporters, presenters as well as spokespeople for museums, the Police, professors etc are ALL women-where the hell are all the men? Where's the equality that people are looking for? Men seem to be pushed out in favour of women in all forms of jobs these days - I don't mind if they are good at their job but let's have some male reporters, presenters, spokespeople on screen as well as a balance otherwise it's an imbalance and men will have to battle for the top jobs - equal pay I feel is still a long way off.

RE: The "Pissed Off " Thread
Pissed off big time at my brother.

He went off on holiday to Portugal with his missus during mid July, during which he came down with pneumonia, pretty major pneumonia at that, ended up going to the hospital in Faro and having an X-ray which showed up major shadowing on both lungs but worst in the left lung. So we’re talking just over 2 weeks ago. Now pneumonia tends to be a real sod of an illness to recover from, indeed it can take as much as 6 months before feeling completely back to normal.

This morning I learn that my brother, not only will be requiring a second X-ray in the short term (not sure if this is normal or not) but it seems that he is smoking cigarettes again (having given them up almost a year ago!) You have pneumonia and you start smoking again! I mean what the actual fuck??? Talk about asking for real trouble! Suffice to say I went totally apeshit when I found out...that was 3 hours ago and am still absolutely steaming mad about it now, totally illogical and brainless actions absolutely do my head in, and this particular one is a real beauty...

The world is full of headbangers, Seems I have the misfortune to be related to one annoyed

What a complete fuckwit... annoyed annoyed annoyed

Oops! Bit of a faux pas there Big Grin Let's face it we don't have that many good tennis players from England, not for years even Johanna Konta our best female was born in Australia! Could take years before we ever find anyone else remotely good enough like Andy Murray-who is Scottish of course. Kyle Edmund is probably some time off that and one or two others but no-one can touch Serena(unless foreign) or this new threat Gauff. Tennis has always been one of our worst sports and if Murray retires that's it, it could be decades before anyone gets to his standard.
