Late Phases(2014)

Spanish director Adrian Garcia's first English language film is a low budget but interesting horror starring Nick Damici as Ambrose,a Vietnam veteran now blind who is convinced to live in retirement community by his son and daughter in law only to discover that the other residents and local congregation are hiding a sinister secret involving religious sacrifices and werewolves.Despite some slightly unconvincing wolf suits here and there, the film is completely watchable thanks to the heartbreaking central performance from Damici. Also starring Tom Noonan and Lance Guest.

Cactus Flower (1969)

Hilarious comedy directed by Gene Saks, starring Walter Matthau, Ingrid Bergman & Goldie Hawn.
Adapated from the Broadway play, Cactus Flower is no think entertainment given superlative star treatment. Hawn, in her Oscar winning debut, plays Toni, a kooky twentysomething free spirit engaged to dentist Julian Winton, who isn't ready to give up his bachelorhood just yet. To avoid marriage, he lies to Toni and tells her that he's already married with children to his assistant Stephanie. At first, Stephanie is against the idea of being dishonest, but she soon gives in. Romantic entanglements ensue, leading to some great laughs from all 3 stars. Highly recommended gem.

Ant Man and the Wasp... 6.5

Enjoyable film, but Marvel totally screwed up on the release of this movie.

How the fuck did they think this would make money after releasing in on the back of the two most popular and profitable comic book films of all time ( Black Panther and Avengers : Infinity War )

It really should have been out a year ago to bridge the gap between the two films i mentioned above.

Mission Impossible Fallout

Watched it on Tuesday and really enjoyed it, the franchise has gone from strength to strength.
Once again Tom Cruise delivers and gives it his all as Ethan Hunt, what I love about Tom Cruise is that he always gives 110% into his roles and that goes with the stunts too which he does himself making his role even believe. With the amount of jump he does in the movie it’s enough to make you wince especially the scene where he broke his ankle and they kept the scene in there lol.
The rest of supporting cast were great too and add to the story Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Angela Bassett, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan, Vanessa Kirby, Wes Bentley. Of course Henry Cavill they guy is built like brick house and as hard as nails and brutal, all i’ll say is the bathroom scene the mustache incident was almost worth it lol.
From start to finish it’s pure action, set pieces and stunts with the long running time 147 mind you don’t notice it’s long as everything runs at very brisk pace. I loved some elements of the very first film are used here along with the twists and turns which keep you on the edge of your seat.
My minor negative is there is more then one villain which is fine but one of them is very obivious and kind of see it coming apart from that it’s perfect also the blend of humour and heart in the movie. Overall loved the movie and probably my fav film of the year so far and my fav in the Mission Impossible series all tho I like all of them, also love the film score.
Tom Cruise really does love to run a lot in the Mission Impossible movies, well here’s to next one lol.

9.7/10.

RE: Last film you watched

When the matriarch of the Graham family passes away, her daughter and grandchildren begin to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry, trying to outrun the sinister fate they have inherited.
Disturbing & Messed up is an understatement (Good for a horror)
8/10

Sixteen years after a traumatic event, a mother and two daughters reunite at the house where it happened, and that's when things get strange.
Another disturbing watch (In a good way) a crazy tranny & a ogrish nonce..madness!!!
8/10

Seen it today and I’ll agree & disagree with you. I’ll agree about the release date being screwed up, the fact it got released in Uk a month after everywhere else really annoyed me.

Where I’ll disagree is the rating, I’m giving Ant-Man & The Wasp 8/10. A fun very enjoyable comicbook film with very good special effects, action and plenty of humour & laughs. Stan Lee has his usual fun cameo & a very good mid credit scene that ties into Avengers: Infinity War

Grave of the Fireflies(1988)

A wonderful, semi autobiographical animé from Isao Takahata told from the perspective of a young boy desperately trying to protect his little sister after they are separated from their parents during America's bombing campaign on Japan during the second world war.As raw and powerfully emotional as any live action war film ever made.

I watched that a couple of months ago - great film. Very emotional. One of the best anime's I've seen.
