Hadn't watched it in ages, spotted it the other day, watched it today, brilliant stuff.

The cooking the sausage scene and Tyrone getting out the car scene priceless.

Brad Pitt apparently lived on a traveller site for a few months to get into the role of Micky O'Neill.Snatch is one of those films I can watch again & again & find something I've missed previously. The only other film that holds a candle to Snatch is Rocknrolla which is also written by Guy Ritchie. It has the same dry wit & humour with a rogue's gallery like Snatch & features an all star cast (Gerard Butler,Idris Elba,Tom Hardy, Mark Strong,Thandie Newton etc).

Two things to be learnt from Snatch are a)Never have a row with a pig farmer & b) You'll never find a Gypsy that doesn't want to be found.

Many great scenes but my favourite two scenes are with Bullet-Tooth Tony (Vinny Jones) when he has Mullett's head trapped in his driver-side window whilst driving listening to Madonna's Lucky Star "have you been using dogshit for toothpaste mullet".
And The Drowning Trout pub scene where Tony politely tells the yardie wannabe gansters "the fact you have Replica written down the side of your gun & I have Desert Eagle .50 written on mine should precipitate your balls into shrinking in it's prescence. Now Fuck off !!!".

My Life As A Courgette(2016) A young boy's time in a foster home for orphans. A smart stop motion animation which feels realistic, and is equally funny, touching and moving but has a dark thread running through it as well. Featuring the voices of Nick Offerman,Ellen Page, Will Forte and Amy Sedaris. 7.5/10

Barbary Coast(1935)

Directed by Howard Hawks and set during the gold rush of the 1850s,the story centres around the kept woman of a rich crook who sees a chance for happiness when she falls in love with an honest man. With really strong performances from a legendary cast that includes Edward G Robinson,Joel McCrea and Walter Brennan.

At the BFI London Film Festival

Gemini(2017) An actress's PA (Lola Kirke) investigates the actress's (Zoe Kravitz) murder in upstate LA. Plot and story wise, nothing overly original and occasionally far fetched, but helped by an impressive, intelligent lead performance from Kirke and slightly quirky one from policeman John Cho(Sulu in the recent Star Trek films),the cinematography whether it be noirish night time scenes, spacious apartment and neon interiors and also the mainly electronic soundtrack. Also starring Greta Lee,Michelle Forbes,Nelson Franklin,Reeves Carney and James Ransone. 6.5/10

Blade Runner 2049

Saw this film yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed it, now if you were a fan of the first film then you’ll like this film now, if you never liked the first film or don’t like slow paced sci fi that makes you have think then this isn’t the film for you.
It’s really hard to explain the story or to do so without spoiling anything I found the story engaging and it made you want focus on every little thing that was going on and film kept you guessing in where it was going and in places emotional . The cinematography in this film was breath taking you really felt it was 30 years from the first film and special effects and CGI were fantastic this film is gonna look great on blu ray and even better on 4K blu ray this has has to win some kind of award for the cinematography. The cast were great Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Ana De Armas, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Hiam Abbass, David Dastmalchian who I spoke too about the film his in everything now in films and tv shows and well deserved too fantastic talented actor.
The film score was fantastic too doing a great job of blending the old themes with the new themes again I was very impressed and it was very loud.
There some nasty disturbing scenes which again can’t spoil what they are but you’ll know when you see them. There are two cameos the first one I knew about but the second one I didn’t see that coming all I can is the CGI work they used on this particular character pisses all over a certain character that had similar work done on Star Wars Rogue One.
Now be warned it’s a very long film 163 mins which might be too long for some people especially with the pacing but for me it didn’t bother me but i know it might fit some people so again it may not be for everyone’s cup of tea and I wish some of characters had more screen time. All in all really enjoyed it and lookimg forward to seeing this on blu ray.

9.8/10

Bladerunner 2049

If you loved Arrival (same Director) you'll love this.

Lots of existential angst (obviously).

Allows you to be smug in 10 years time, "...oh I watched it at the cinema when it was released the first time round".

Contains Joi SmileTongue

10/10

Rattle Of A Simple Man(1964)

Oscar winning director Muriel Box brings charm and grace to this simple tale of a daring romance between an introverted football fan from the north and a street savy prostitute from London.A great cast including Harry H.Corbett,Thora Hird,Diane Clento and Michael Medwin all excell in the main parts.

I Origins (2014) The professional and love lives of a biologist studying the developments of eyes in animals. A sometimes frustrating and confusing drama but at other times an interesting film that takes unexpected turns in the story. Just about rewarding in the end with good acting from Michael Pitt,Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Brit Marling. Also starring Steven Yeun and Archie Panjabi. 6.5/10
