Last film you watched

Face(1997) A gang of five(Robert Carlyle, Ray Winstone, Phillip Davis, Steve Waddington and Damon Albarn) successfully pull off a ram raid heist on a security company, but things soon fall apart. Despite the initial lack of background to the relationship between the characters, this builds nicely as the situation deteriorates, good action scenes and acting especially Carlyle, whose character is well rounded as his political past is revealed, and Lena Headey with a strong supporting role. There is a political thread running through the pretty good script, while the soundtrack a mix of dance and indie is fine. However, the film does get rather far fetched in the last third. Also starring Peter Vaughan, Sue Johnstone, Andrew Tiernan and Christine Tremarco. 6.5/10

Logan - 9/10.

Such a good film, proper stabby violence, Wolverine goring people like I've always wanted to see.
Dafne Keen really was fantastic as Laura, such an adorable, vicious character, a real scene stealer.
If you haven't watched this yet, I highly recommend you do.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping - 7/10.

As a fan of The Lonely Island and Andy Samberg in Brooklyn Nine-Nine (and various other things), I thought I'd give it a look.

Quote:Childhood friends Conner (Andy Samberg), Owen (Jorma Taccone) and Lawrence (Akiva Schaffer) found fame and fortune after forming the hip-hop group the Style Boyz. Owen and Lawrence faded into the background when frontman Conner left the band to launch a successful solo career. Now, the egotistical singer decides to film a documentary about his life while he's still on top. When his second album flops, the camera is there to capture his world come crashing down.

If you've ever seen any of The Lonely Island videos and enjoyed them, I think you'll like this.

War For The Planet Of The Apes

The 3rd film in the reboot trilogy following on from Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes & Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes & the 9th Apes film in total with the first film coming out in 1968.

Andy Serkis is outstanding as Cesar & Woody Harrelson is very good as the army colonel hunting the apes down. Special Effects are amazing, especially for the apes and the action sequences are very good. Some nice Easter Eggs for the 5 classic Planet Of The Apes films and the ending is very emotional & satisfying

A Walk In The Sun (1945) Its 1943 in Southern Italy and an US battalion is tasked with blowing up a bridge and taking a farmhouse manned by Germans. A very 'talk heavy' movie with intermittent gun battles, so a lot is dependant on the quality of the script and performances. Luckily, both deliver, intelligently written with some witty and quirky moments and a fine ensemble cast, including Dana Andrews, John Ireland, Richard Conte,Lloyd Bridges,Norman Lloyd, Richard Benedict and Steve Brodie. Lewis Milestone's direction is neat and unobtrusive and the action scenes when they are come, are worth the wait. You buy into the characters and so the finale is tense. A mostly forgotten minor classic. Narrated by Burgess Meredith. 7.5/10

Rise of The Planet of The Apes

Simply put this film was a masterpiece, I saw Dawn first haven't watched them in order. Andy Serkis was fantastic doing the motion capture this guy deserves a award. The story was great and compelling with rich emotional tire woven into the story i even shed tear at the end with gorilla.
The special effects were stunning The Apes looked real hats off to the cgi work and the post credit scene sets up the second movie perfectly. I love this film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Loved it. Most fun I've had watching a Marvel film in a while. Best cinematic Spider-Man suit EVER. Looks like the 60's cartoon rendered in live-action.

Kinda weird to watch a Spider-Man film now and have a thing for Aunt May (Marisa Tomei, man... AILF?). I'm almost entirely Batman in terms of comics, but I kinda want to start reading Spider-Man now.

The Culling (2016).

A film about an angry set of TB infected badgers taking vengeance on a group of hapless farmers......just kidding, but it probably would have been better than this mish-mash of a film.
A horror film about a group of college students headed by the very pretty Emily (Elizabeth DiPrinzio) who take off on a road trip stumble across a sobbing young girl in a car-park clutching a doll claiming she is lost.Like the good citizens they are they drop the girl home to a rather creepy looking house with no parents in sight.It isn't long before the parents return & offer the young students a roof for the night & plenty of booze as a thank you.When one of the students takes a nose around the house & finds dolls with limbs missing,strange sounds around the house this creepy looking house becomes apparent it harbours very disturbing secrets.

Overall;what starts of as a promising opening 5-10 minutes of a film soon descends into a pretty boring,paint-by-numbers film that offers no explanation of what & why things are happening & most annoying of all a lack any sort of ending to a film.3/10.


The Shallows (2016).

After wasting 90 minutes of my life on the film above this film was more my cup of tea.Starring the gorgeous Blake Lively as Nancy a young surfer who decides to visit a secluded beach area her late mother used to surf many years ago.Whilst floating on her surf-board she stumbles across a whale carcass (surely a warning sign) & it isn't long before she is attacked by a Great White Shark.Managing to flee the attack she takes temporary refuge on a set of rocks a few hundred yards from the shore.But with the tide closing in,nobody on an empty beach & a circling shark who obviously liked the taste of Nancy (I don't blame him) she will have to use her wits to ensure her survival.

Overall;with lovely Blake & her fantastic body should be enough to score 10/10 but as a film in itself it was good with the tension in the film not letting up after the shark attack & with well shot underwater & shark effect scenes as well.8/10.

Forgot to add with Rise of The Planet of The Apes I liked the reference from Tom Felton to original apes movie.

Castle Freak(1995)

Director Stuart Gordon reunites with Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Compton from Re-Animator for this straight to video,Gothic style,grisly monster movie that is much better than its small screen origins suggests.With good work from leads Combs and Compton,its popularity in the last years of the vhs era even led to range of action figures.
