Dirty Grandpa, 3/10 incredibly crude and unfunny comedy, what on earth is Robert De Niro doing in this rubbish.

Secret Agent(1936) Directed by Hitchcock in which John Gielgud plays Ashenden a British spy tasked alongside fellow spies ( Madeleine Carroll & Peter Lorre) in locating an enemy spy in Switzerland at the height of World War One. Pretty interesting and exciting for most of 1 hour 20 or so minute running time, but early on there's too much frivolous humour. The tone gets darker in the second half, and the film benefits from it. There's trademark Hitch visual touches, and a couple of excellent set pieces, one in a chocolate factory, with little dialogue, but mostly the noise of the machinery. Hitchcock wasn't completely happy with distinguished actor Gielgud, perhaps not charismatic enough in a lead role, though I thought he was suitable for the sober, serious parts of the film. Lorre, unsurprisingly tends to steal scenes, while Robert Young's character is pretty much annoying for the duration of the film. Also starring Percy Marmount, Florence Kahn & Charles Carson. 7/10

Society(1989)

Brian Yuzna's film stars Billy Warlock as the hero, suspicious that his rich family and friends(all of whom are masons)are as well as indulging in the usual 80's excess, money, material possession etc, actually interbreeding and even mutating with each other. The finale see's Billy confirms his darkest fears when he witnesses a mass orgy of orifice mashing and body melding of truly revolting proportions. The live action creations are the films main point of interest, all done by the amazingly talented "Screaming Mad" George.Just don't eat anything before you watch it.

7/10

Blood Feast[aka Feast Of Flesh](1963)

Produced by prolific schlockmeister David F.Friedman and directed by Herschel Gordon Lewis. This low budget grindhouse film sees an Egyptian caterer who kills people to make meals as a sacrifice to the goddess Ishtar.Although its way over the top in the blood and guts department and Mal Arnold in the lead role gives a masterclass in bad acting,it's still enjoyable due to the skill of the director.

6.5/10

Death In Small Doses(1957) Peter Graves plays a government agent going undercover investigating the selling of amphetamines to truck drivers. A watchable, though routine crime film/drama, enlivened by the jazz soundtrack but spoilt slightly by an annoying, over the top performance by Chuck Connors. With Mala Powers, Roy Engel,Merry Anders & Harry Lauter. 5.5/10
