None But The Brave (1965) Frank Sinatra's only film directorial credit is a WW2 film where a Japanese unit are stranded on a Pacific island & a US unit crash land there... Among the regulation war action scenes there's quite a lot of interesting stuff, with both countries getting equal screen time. The last part of the film is maybe a bit unbelievable but entertaining and reinforces its anti war message. Strong performances from Clint Walker, Tatsuya Mihashi & Sinatra himself as a doctor who likes his drink. There's also roles for Tommy Sands(badly overacting) who was then married to Frank's daughter Nancy & Richard Sinatra, Frank's cousin. Also starring Takeshi Kato. 6.5/10

Captain America Civil War 9.5 outta 10

Bascially same as the Cinema edition no added minutes or bonus scenes added to the movie itself

Still kicks ass especially with the battle in the airport including Spiderman and Antman

Batman(1989)

Tim Burton's Gothic masterpiece, split opinion on release.Snooty critics whose only memory of Batman was the Adam West TV series(which represented the comic at the time)had not even glanced at Frank Miller's breakthrough comic,The Dark Knight Returns, which the tone of the film was based on.It was exactly what creator Bob Kane had always wanted to see and remained most faithful to his original vision until Batman Begins came along.Michael Keaton was also attacked for being mostly known for his comic turns. The actor captured the tortured Bruce Wayne perfectly.Steeped in the 80s with its corrupt cops, greedy politicians and featuring an insanely, over the top performance from Jack Nicholson as the Joker.Fans didn't care about the deviation from the comic origin story when they saw production designer Anton Furst's vision of Gotham City brought to life with Danny Elfman's broody score.

Child Of God(2013) A homeless man in backwoods America falls into a succession of grim crimes. Maybe the worst film I've ever seen with a relentlessly unsympathetic leading character played in a boring unintelligible and or shouting manner by Scott Haze & listlessly directed by James Franco. Perhaps Franco should stick to acting. 1/10

London After Midnight(1927)

A mystery film from Tod Browning where the vampires are the red herrings used to trap the real culprits responsible for a series of murders. One of the most sought after "lost films" mainly because of Lon Chaney's extraordinary make up.The film was remade by the same director in 1935 as Mark Of the Vampire, with Lon Chaney as the vampire.

Accion Mutante(1993)

Spain's attempt at the cyberpunk genre with this comical slice of sci fi,which owes some of its satire to the junk television infomercials that screen throughout Robocop.Every bit as postmodern as Paul Verhoeven's classic, this thoroughly bizzare blood and violence epic is well worth tracking down.

Jimmy's Hall(2014) Directed by Ken Loach, Jimmy (superbly played by Barry Ward) returns to 1930s Ireland from exile in New York and rebuilds the hall of the title. The acting feels real as you'd expect from Loach and this is an absorbing slice of history when the Irish took over from the British in government, and the different factions, including the Catholic Church collide. Also starring Francis Magee, Simone Kirby,Jim Norton (excellent as the Catholic father),Brian F O'Byrne & Andrew Scott 7.5/10
