Star Trek (2009) was a good reboot and a great introduction to the characters and how McCoy got his nickname even though doctors (medical not academical) are called bones has he McCoy said he got his clothes and his bones after his divorce from his ex wife.

star trek into darkness, yes it is a reinterpretation of wrath of khan with a bit of insurrection with star fleet becoming more militaristic.

Expendables 1 and 2 still think stallone came up with it while doing Rambo. The second film is full of references to films of willis, arnie and stallone plus chuck Norris having a cameo. Stallone is an underrated writer and director.

The Gorgon(1968)

Terence Fisher directed this effort from Hammer Films, opting to ignore Greek Mythology and set this in a rural German village in 1910.Prudence Hyman is Megaera the Gorgan who,at the time of the full moon, turns her victims to stone with a single glance. With Peter Cushing in good form as Dr.Namsroff and an equally good Christopher Lee as Prof. Karl Meister.

Containment(2015)

A British horror film that follows the tenants of a tower block that come under attack from a sinister force. The situation gets more desperate as they are cut off from their water supply with seemingly no escape.A pretty bog standard but well shot film.

Atlantic City (1980) Directed by Louis Malle,Burt Lancaster is superb as a ex gangster living out his days in the city of the title, who gets involved with a young couple who've stolen coke from the Mafia & an excellent Susan Sarandon as a trainee casino dealer. The characterisation and script is spot on, some are looking back on their so called glory days while others are hopeful for the future. The city fits in with as well, seen better days, but starting to be rebuilt. Also starring Kate Reid(excellent), Al Waxman,Hollie McLaren,Robert Joy, Michael Piccoli & Sean Sullivan 9/10

Star Trek: Beyond (2016)

The hugely enjoyable reboot continues without any sign of disappointing. This third installment since the Star Trek universe was re-imagined is exciting from start to finish with all the usual effects and heart-stopping moments backed up by a very good story. The only regret I had is that I didn't watch in 3D. 5/5

The Hunchback of Notre Dame(1956)

Jean Delannoy directed this version of the famous tale and cast Anthony Quinn as Quasimodo.Quinn's approach was very interesting as he opted to play Quasimodo more like a punch drunk fighter than a monster in this underrated French film.Gina Lollobrigida is very good as Esmeralda.
