Orders Are Orders(1954)

An American film crew shooting in a British army camp encounter trouble when the soldiers stationed there do nothing but chase the female members of the film crew.A fun if slightly outdated comedy with a superb cast consisting of Sid James,Tony Hancock and Peter Sellers.

Rich And Strange (1931) A Hitchcock film in which a jaded London couple receive an early inheritance and go on a world cruise but this causes marital divisions. A nothing special script and story are boosted by some clever directorial moments and the use of locations. Partly billed as a comedy, there is the odd amusing moment. Starring Henry Kendall, Joan Barry (an early Hitch blonde), Percy Marmont, Betty Amann & Elsie Randolph. 6/10

Black Diamonds(1932)

Charles Hammer directs this tale about a brassy Yorkshireman called John Morgan who tries to convince a member of parliament to provide him with funding so he can make a film about pit life.Freaturing good acting from Beckett Bould and Jenine Stevens.

Cloud Atlas(2012) This ambitious movie covers six time periods, starting in the 19th Century and including two in the future and gives multiple roles to various actors including Ben Whishaw, Halle Berry,Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant,Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, James D'Arcy, Jim Broadbent and Doona Bae. Absorbing, exciting and humorous for pretty much of its 2 hours 50 minutes length, the constant jumping from period to period actually sustained my interest. There are connecting threads but I haven't quite got my head round them yet after this my 2nd watch. Another standout feature is the amazing actor makeup. 8/10

The rack pack.
A brilliant Biopic on the rivalry between Steve Davis and ALex Higgins in the 80s. The casting was superb as well. it was very funny and sad at the same time

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows

a brilliant fun & very enjoyable film from start to finish. The special effects & action are very good, especially with the 4 turtles along with Beebop & Rocksteady.

The human cast play their part & Stephen Amell is very good as Casey Jones. Loved all the nods towards previous turtle films & the classic 90's cartoon

9/10

Frailty(2001)

Bill Paxton directs and stars in screenwriter Brent Hanley's alarming and original tale of rigious fanaticism.Paxton plays a father who forces his two young sons to assist him in doing god's work.A truly brilliant and unnerving performance from Paxton in a film which is,sadly more relevant than ever today.

Good Will Hunting(1997) Directed by Gus Van Sant as Robin Williams ,perfectly cast as an offbeat therapist helping a wayward troubled mathematical genius, played by Matt Damon. Damon's and Ben Affleck's script gets under the skin of the characters, not just in the Williams/Damon scenes, but also the scenes involving Damon and his girlfriend played beautifully by Minnie Driver. These contrast nicely the scenes with Damon and his buddies(two of whom are played by the Affleck brothers) 7.5/10
