Paul Newman's career was actually stuttering at this point until he was cast as boxer Rocky Graziano.A classic rags to riches story sees Graziano as kid from the slums who ended up becoming middleweight champion of the world.Newman shines under the direction of Robert Wise and the critical acclaim he received for the film made him a star.

9/10

Apparently,James Dean was going to play Graziano but he tragically died in a car crash

Zoolander 2

A reasonably good film, although not as funny as the first one.

Trail Of The Screaming Forehead (2007)

I won't give the plot away, but I will just say, if you're a fan of films which are so bad they are good, then this film is for you. Be warned though the acting is atrocious, but that is part of the fun with these sort of films.

Twelve Angry Men(1957)

Almost the entire film takes place in a jury room as a jury are considering if a slum kid is guilty of knifing his father. This is Sidney Lumet's debut feature which took him just 20 days to complete. In that time he managed to create an intimate, sweaty, claustrophobic atmosphere.A great deal of the pleasure is derived from watching each excellent actor do his turn.Henry Fonda is superb as the juror who persuades them, one by one,to return a verdict of not guilty.

10/10

^ it's a good film.
The 1950s BBC TV sitcom Hancock's Half Hour 12 Angry Men piss-take with Tony Hancock and Sidney James is pretty funny if you've seen the original.

^ More seriously, it's hard to imagine that film being made now in the same spirit.
The audience would probably be predisposed to want to see the accused found guilty ?
For instance, eg. would be interesting if they remade it and had the criminal be accused of terrorism and to be of a non-Christian religion ?

Didn't they base an episode of minder on that too? Where Arthur was in the jury room?

I can vaguely picture it, but that's about it.
