'Slow West'

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3205376/

Would agree with the 7/10 IMDB rating, not an epic 9 or 10 full marks but still pretty damn good and had me engrossed throughout. Some nice vibes at times that reminded of older 'Dollar Trilogy' era Western stuff. Good for fans of TV shows like Deadwood or older movies like Hang Em High, Pale Rider, Fistful Of Dollars...all the Ennio Morricone/Sergio Leone stuff.

'The Maze Runner'

IMDB says 6.8/10, I say 6.5/10. Not amazing, not terrible. Middling.

The godfather, part II - Francis Ford Coppola, principal actors: Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Robert Duvall, John Cazale, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, and the maestro Lee Strasberg.
10/10.a masterpiece, and a stellar cast.

year after year after year, I keep reading that the shows were better "in the past"... maybe they were never that great (except in the pioneering era)?

Sin City - A Dame To Kill For

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458481/

IMDB says 6.6/10, I say 7/10. I like the comic noir or whatever it's called, film noir, whatever look and you can't go wrong with a cast of down trodden city dwellers, strippers, gamblers, dames, killers and general ne'er do wells and cut throats. Serpico, 1973, directed by Sidney Lumet, based on the true story of the notorious NYC policeman Frank Serpico.
7,5/10- in my opinion the best performance of Pacino

Film4 : 23 Paces to Baker Street (1956)

Rear Window wannabe of a film (it came out 2 years after Hitchcock's film) in which a blind American playwright overhears what sounds like a sinister kidnapping plot in his local London pub and then, with the help of his comic-relief manservant (hey, it's 50's Britain, and he is blind) and his eye-candy for the gentlemen ex-fiancée Vera Miles; tries to gather evidence to persuade the disbelieving police to take action.

Appearances by British character actors Maurice Denham and Cecil Parker (the Major from The Ladykillers)

Potentially interesting premise but a bit slow and inevitably dated.
The climax where he's confined to his apartment and then uses darkness and sound in an attempt to escape being murdered himself is especially reminiscent of Rear Window

Absolutely Anything

Brilliant Terry Jones Film starring Simon Pegg as a Special needs teacher bit of a loser that is given powers by aliens voiced by the python cast that he can have everything he wishes for and it starts to slowly turn him nuts

Cast is amazing Robin Williams voiceover as his dog and with the pythons and Kate beckinsale is the love interest.

Say its a 9/10 a good sunday afternoon film or when u need a good laugh
