Wolf Of Wall Street - 9/10 - Amazing film. If you're a Scorsese fan, see this film. If you're a DiCaprio fan, see this film. Was actually really impressed with DiCaprio in this, channeled his inner Jack Nicholson in one part and his Ray Liotta throughout. Truly excellent, like Goodfellas on Wall Street

Hyde Park on Hudson.
(2012 ; Cert 12 ; currently on Sky movie channels.)
7/10. Period drama. US President FDR meets King & Queen of Britain on their American trip in 1930s on eve of WW2. Oh, and FDR seduces his 5th cousin. Good cast : Laura Linney, Olivia Coleman etc. Bill Murray good as President FDR.
Bit of a slight story, but some of it quite amusing. (Assuming it's all basically true then didn't realise what a randy old so-and-so FDR was - having all these mistresses on the go at the same time, and considering he couldn't walk without crutches : Bill Clinton had nothing on this bloke).

Hummingbird 5/10 an ok film with Jason Statham trying to portray a tortured individual on a sort of revenge mission...sort of, but sadly he misses the mark by a mile. The plot is very weak and laughable at times and the action intermittent. Not a totally bad movie just not brilliant.

I loved Cockneys Vs Zombies too HannahsPet, thought it was great for a zombie film on a budget.

This afternoons viewing was Machete Kills - 5/10 on a Sunday afternoon rising to 7 or 8/10 with some beers and some mates - More ridiculous Grindhouse action, Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson were great when on screen and with Amber Heard, Alex Vega, Sofia Vergara, Lady Gaga and a brief appearance by Vanessa Hudgens there is plenty of eye candy on show

12 Years A Slave

A brutal, poignant, heart-rendering drama, with an excellent performances from Chiwetal EJiofer as captured slave Soloman Northup, and Lupit Nyongo as cotton picker Patsy.

Michael Fassbender is Maliciously Sadistic as cotton plantation owner Epps. And Brad Pitt does a nice cameo, which is integral to the storyline. Some of the torture scenes really make you winch, but the film is quality and keeps you gripped and hooked right up to the touching finale.

Well worth seeing. 8/10

I too have now seen Wolf of Wall Street.
It is one of those films that my gut feeling says people will either love it or loathe it.
Me personally, I thought it was superb.
Di Caprio produced his finest ever performance imo.
9/10.
