RANGO

I defy any one not to love this film once they've watched it.

I watched Demolition Man last night, as there was nothing else on, 8/10. Great action and its funny at times. If I may add if the future is like that, where there is no cursing, no alcohol, no sex and basically anything that seems bad for you, then I hate if the future is like that. It was basically Ofcom's wet dream

RE: Last film you watched
I went mad on Wednesday, going to the flicks twice.

Prometheus - I'm a big fan of the first two Alien films but never succumbed to the hype of Prometheus, I went in with less anticipation than most. There was some great visuals and a few effective nods to the Alien films though ultimately there was nothing new seen here. There wasn't the tension/horror of Alien nor the visual violence and iconography of Aliens. The usual flaws of the genre were evident, with stupid choices by people who are 'the best in their field'. Fassbender stole all the scenes he was in and along with some great cinemotography, this is definitely worthy a look, just don't go in with too high an expectation. 7/10.

The Raid - Now The Raid is certainly a film I had been hyped up to see, generating fantastic reviews and a cult like buzz among those who had seen it. It is a Thai film by Welsh director Gareth Evans, don't let the subtitles put you off as this is action, action and more action. But this is amazing action, to a standard I have never seen before, the use of gore is a great balance of being wince-inducing but not too far. It is visceral, exciting, heart pumping and an adrenaline ride. In few films have I looked forward to the next scene so much, nor savoured a gruesome death with such wonder. If you like action films, the perfectly choreographed fight scenes will delight you, I wish I could give it a higher score but it has no long lasting narrative influence, just an on the rails thrill. 8.5/10.

Freddys Dead - The Final Nightmare. 1/10

Gave it a 1, because some of the script (assuming they used one) was hilariously bad in places.
Embarrassing "special" effects throughout - don't even think about watching the film with others present.
I can't really remember some of the other Nightmare films, but if they're any worse than this, I'd be amazed.
....It was kinda funny though. Smile

Drive - 7/10

Great soundtrack but this film is way overrated.

The Terminator. Still amazing. I don't know whether i'd call it an action film or a straight up horror. It's got the characteristics of a slasher/stalker film really.

Terminator 2. Still one of the best action films ever. Ridiculous visuals but has a heart and great characterisation.

Terminator 3. What is this i don't even...? More like a parody of the first two Terminators. There was some funny moments and action scenes.

Terminator Salvation. Underrated i think. Although Bale with his stupid Batman voice (why?) does my head in. Worthington outshone him comfortably.
