I don't think this was a very smart move by sunderland to be honest in todays current situation regarding racism ect in football or the fact that it's a huge gamble.

Its certainly divided opinion amongst Sunderland supporters, while some are saying give him a chance quite a lot of them are worried about his politics and are threatening to boycott the club while he's manager,while this is commendable will they feel the same way if he keeps them up and is successful next season and beyond?

At the end of the day what Di Canio 'apparently' said, was years ago. The players at Swindon never complained about any signs of fascism or racism, so I don't see what the big problem is

Peoples views can change over time, surely what should be important is whether his appointment helps the club win football matches

Di Canio didn't "apparently" say anything, it's well publicised fact he did say these things and there were reports that he racially abused a Swindon player.

Everywhere he has been something contraversial has happened. Only time will tell how he does at Sunderland. He will not be able to get away with some of the things he's done and said in league 1 in the Premier League.

I think he's a breath of fresh air for the PL. He speaks his mind, ain't afraid to drop 'big' players, and is always great to watch. I can't wait for him to sub Titus Bramble off after 10mins and say he's a rapist

You forgot to mention that he was cleared of doing that, so the reports were wrong.

Thats not my point, my point is allegations of racism around the club is the last thing sunderland or any club want...

Stop jumping on Di Canio's back, he hasn't even took charge of one game yet and you're already having pops at him!
