So Bradford City lost but what an amazing achievement this run was. A special fuck you to Nathan Dyer for his tantrum because he wasn't allowed to take the penalty. Fuck you.

After two years I've finally given myself an avatar and a signature as well! It's like a bus, you wait for one for ages and two come at once!

I still think the title race is over, but 3rd/4th spot looks to be a 3-way tie between Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, and it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that Chelsea could miss out on the Champions League for next year, which would be a major loss for them.

Meanwhile, Cardiff are playing well at Wolves, and we could be heading for 2 welsh teams in the English Premiership next season Smile

& Liverpool and Everton...

I can understand his frustration though from being so close to making history, but he could have handled it in a more professional manner. From my understanding De Guzman is the penalty taker for Swansea, so Dyer should have stuck to team orders and like I said before be a bit more professional.

On the match itself, it was very one sided and Swansea dominated from start to finish. Bradford gave a lot of heart, but skill usually wins football matches and Swansea deserved their win. Not sure what happened to Bradford, but they looked totally overwhelmed by the occasion and never go a foot hold in the game, but Swansea handled the pressure of being strong favourites very well. Well done Swansea and good luck in Europe next season.

Really glad Swansea won, will be good seeing them in europe next season, they deserved it, would be pretty pointless Bradford going into europe, and if we are all honest pretty lucky more than anything getting to the final today.

Not a chance. Over the last three seasons, the number of points needed for 4th place has been 69, 70 and 68. Liverpool have 39 points with 11 games to go. So they'd need to win 10 out of 11 to have a chance of 4th. Everton are only three points better off, so it seems munch is correct Smile

PS Well done to Swansea on winning the League Cup today. Michael Laudrup is a total legend, and has been ever since the '86 World Cup Smile

Come on man give this Bradford side that was put together with a shoestring budget and put in a huge amount effort for getting to the final. Defeated Arsenal on penalties and defended really well in that game and over the two legs against Aston Villa deserved to go through. Lots of teams particularly in cup competitions get an element of luck on their route to the final and you can include Swansea having an element of luck as well by getting 2 goals against Chelsea in the semi finals in the first leg thanks to two mistakes from Ivanovic.

Have you looked at the table recently? Everton are 5 points off the race, can't see them making that up, and West Brom are above Liverpool!

Then again, once Lampard gets his record breaking goal, he may lose interest knowing he won't be getting a new contract, and Chelsea's form could go further downhill as a result. Gareth Bale could be further unsettled by talk of Real Madrid or whoever, causing his form to suffer, so Spurs become ordinary. And Arsenal could make it to the Champions League final, so be distracted from the league.

So maybe Everton and West Brom could sneak in there after all Big Laugh

It won't take those numbers of points this year. It's been the poorest premier league for many a season. The team who finishes 3rd will be doing well to end up with 70 points.

Everton are only 6 points off 4th place with 33 points to play for.

Liverpool are 9 points off with 33 to play for with Spurs, Everton and Chelsea still to come to Anfield.

A big ask for both no doubt but it's not done and dusted yet.

We've got the 2nd Highest goalscorer in the League, Suarez on 18 goals, 1 behind Van Persie. We've got the highest assist maker Gerrard with 9 assists and the 2nd best clean sheet record in the league with 10, just 2 behind Man City.

If Suarez can win the golden boot, Gerrard most assists and Reina most clean sheets come the end of the season then we could make 4th I reckon.

exactly, and yes munch I have seen the table recently and 4th is still up for grabs, like groundnpound said we still have to play chelsea and everton, chelsea arent exactly doing well, evertons early season form has slipped, liverpool are improving, other teams will take points from each other, 4th is wide open still, spurs have the europa league to worry about too..... maybe its you who needs to look at the table again...

Tottenham are in 4th place at the moment and could go 4 points clear of 5th placed Arsenal and 12 points clear of Liverpool if they beat West Ham tomorrow. Yes there is an outside chance of Liverpool getting in that 4th spot, but they need to win most of their remaining games (I'm thinking 8 or 9 wins out of 11) and they need the teams above them as well to drop points consistently. I just don't see them getting in there at this late stage of the season and I think they would do well for Rodgers first season to get in the top 6 of the table.
