Watford have not won at Anfield since 1999. Tonight that record continues as Liverpool get the 3 points needed and 5-0 against Watford. City 1 up but West Ham Utd hanging in there. Origi was on for Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold sounds like he played a blinder. I'm still a bit concerned that Mo Salah has lost his shooting boots and if he is off-target then it could just fall to Mané and Firmino to be the main strikers - even if Sturridge or Origi is used again. Virgil Van Dyk scored twice. Anyway a good win tonight and roll on Sunday and the Merseyside Derby.

A very good performance where we tend to be a bogey team for Watford at Anfield where we tend to bang a good few goals against them.It was key to rest players like Firminho looking ahead for the Merseyside derby at the weekend,I'd agree about Salah who seems to be going through a bit of a purple patch of poor form & probably should have been rested this evening. No better game for Salah to rediscover that good form again against the Toffee's & was pleased for Origi to take his chance & double his tally for this season.Great backheel flick by Mane.

Liverpool sound a lot more alert than Everton at the moment, with Milner on the bench(which I am surprised about but a good sub to bring on along with Firmino) but there is historical needle between these two teams and Everton can be dangerous but a draw is no good, we MUST continue to put pressure on Man City and win today.

5.45pm this has all the hallmarks of a goalless draw which will not be good for Liverpool I hope we can steal this right at the end or it will be vital points dropped.

NOPE! Points dropped this could be telling in the coming months, but it wouldn't be for lack of trying.

Liverpool look like they know they have lost the title race after that. Beaten men written all over their faces. Klopp looks sanguine, but resigned, to boot.

RE: Liverpool FC
Any other season going to Man Utd and Everton taking a draw would of been seen as a decent result. But should of capitalized on a injury hit Man Utd last week to take 3 points and this week just didn't seem to be up for it fight. Just don't think 4-3-3 is the best formation for Liverpool should go back to playing the 4-2-3-1 especially when they have the players to play that way. Now the pressure is off all they can do is hope City drop points.

RE: Liverpool FC
Salah a fantastic player that he is but for me at times when he has the ball he runs like a horse with blinkers on,he just doesn't seem to look around to pick out a team-mate who might be in a better position to score & prefers to go it alone. Overall it was another ragged performance that was a continuation of the previous games West Ham, Leicester,Bayern & Man Utd last Sunday where passing & creating chances in the final 3rd was so sloppy it was infuriating to watch. The Watford game midweek provided a bit of restbite but it seemed like a flat-track bully performance against a Watford team at Anfield that offered very little fightback. But when we go hitting the hurdles against against teams with a little more conviction we stumble again.

A 3rd goalless performance in the past 3-4 weeks doesn't bode well with 9 Premiership games left but the next 3 games starting with Burnley at Anfield next Sunday followed by the return leg at Bayern & then at Fulham will give a clearer shape to Liverpool's season. The only small glimmer of hope that Man City last 2 wins have been really scrappy ground out wins (with a very fortunate penalty decision against West Ham) where they don't seem to be playing well also.

Respite aside, I don't think losing points today is a case of wailing and gnashing of teeth-it's just ONE point difference and there is no reason why Man City can't also slip up, so at the moment the title race is still alive BUT we must win all our remaining games and of course hope Man City make a mistake-losing De Bruyne is a blow for starters. We have to hope none of our main strikers are injured. Salah's 50th will come I am sure of it, but he needs to get a lot more match fit.

RE: Liverpool FC
Okay so Man City didn't slip up but then again what on earth was Watford's manager not putting out a full strength team and only bringing on Deeney and Delofeu? later. No wonder they got tanked! Anyway so Man City are ahead again and the pressure goes back onto Liverpool. Now we should be able to beat Burnley but Sean Dyche is a wily old soul so we will have to be careful, but a win would put the pressure back on City-either way we HAVE to win tomorrow and then the points score is cut again-but lose and it will be harder to catch them. If only Raheem Sterling hadn't been greedy and seen pound signs so early. At least he's stopped running with arm looking as though it had a handbag attached to it Big Grin

Never expected Man City to drop points against Watford. But am not sure team selection was the reason they lost when they played well in the first half and then get a shocking offside decision go against at the start of the second half. But as good as City are they still can't sell out there stadium. Anyways hopefully Liverpool can win the next 2 games against Burnley and Fulham to go back top and put more pressure on.
